Ironically, Camerons push for diversity within the party has given us some of the biggest headcases. Hey, leave Suella alone! She has a dream!

MLK would be so proud of her. You're right, the holy trinity of Mogg, Liz, and Kwasi would be so proud of her!

Funnily enough, I just watched the Global Warming sunny episode. I wouldn't actually be opposed to the majority of houses having "no electric" hours.
If we all collectively had 1 hour a day, say 2 days a week without using electric (or massively reduced) it would be great. Again, caveats are things that keep people alive, etc but if we all turned it off at 7-8 and just went outside, read a book or something, then it's at least being proactive.

Don't worry I'm sure a clever Tory is currently explaining to Truss how we can harness the energy potential of poor people like something out of the Matrix.

I'm sure everyone would love their fridges and freezers going off on a regular basis, still if the power cuts are during a particularly cold winter they wouldn't need to be on all the time with the home being freezing.

We’re all going to be too poor to buy groceries anyway so freezers will be redundant before the power outages come

Also a positive side effect will be that anyone caught in their home while it's freezing frozen can be burnt in the Great British Furnace to provide power for those in need. Like those heroes of society, wealth creators.

Look up "load shedding south africa". What it has led to is a big uptake in home battery setups. Just something large enough to handle 2 hours of outage.

Funny thing about unions and essential services.
If working people are delivering an essential service, they should be paid accordingly.

Like those heroes of society, wealth creators. Did the Golden Generation even have freezers during WW2? How about we all show some of that Dunkirk spirit and stop complaining.

Hadn't realised there were more train strikes on. One of my mates who doesn't drive (and I seemingly have more of them these days) was going to come over this Saturday.
Has anything actually happened with the strikes and movement from train operators? At what point does a strike become ineffective?

It probably wouldn't save a huge amount of power overall. The most energy intensive stuff for households (things like laundry, cooking, electric car charging etc.) would just be done at other times of day. You'd probably have to cycle the times in different areas as well to avoid spikes when the power gets turned back on.

They should just reduce the number of volts they send us. 240 seems excessive when Americans get by with less.
Somewhere around 30 seems about right.

The lawsuit against Associated Newspapers is hopefully killing the chances of Dacre getting his peerage, all of the allegations were under his watch so it's incredibly damaging to him. Which is nice.

Don’t tell Moggy, we harmonised voltage tolerances with Europe 20 years ago. Now all U.K. 240V stuff will actually work at the lower EU levels and vice versa
