The guys a twat, but I actually quite like that story.
"You're well fit. Oh this, nah going through a divorce. Wanna come back to mine? I'm the fucking Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster!"

Yeah this is pretty weird. He does look like he's walloped a couple of disco biscuits as well.

Imagine if you're sat slumped in a chair coming up from ectasy you've just taken and through the smoke you see a fully suited up Michael Gove dancing like that. You'd think you were losing your mind.

Absolutely embarrassing. Isn’t there a tame backbencher or former front bencher they can appoint like a normal government?
Why so determined its Dacre at the cost of so much political capital?

Nice to see there are still some people with integrity out there. It isn't integrity, largely, I think. A combination of nothing good about the gig whatsoever short of pleasing the Tories for the 5 seconds the brownie points last, and the risk of upsetting Dacre by asking the wrong thing, which as one of the most powerful and nastiest fuckers in the industry (or indeed any industry), they would rather avoid. I think Dacre has been promised, and what Dacre has been promised, Dacre gets, if the promisee doesn't want a double cunting in person and an 8 page Mail cunting in public.

Richest MP in Parliament set to remove £20 uplift from Universal Credit and also increase National Insurance to pay for social care.
No mention about closing tax loopholes.

Unfortunately, it's a tax rise that falls squarely on the salaried worker, on earned income and conveniently leaves the tax on unearned income untouched. I know of a few one man bands who exploit the loophole to avoid paying NI altogether. The very rich have nothing to worry about whatsoever.

The very richest and pensioners (and rich pensioners). Its laser targeted not to affect their major voting bases.
I really dont mind paying more tax as long as its fair and this manifestly isnt. Starmer needs to write this on the side of a red bus and drive it around the country.

But aren't things written on the side of red buses lies? Except when their not when explained away by mental gymnastics?

We all remember what happened when May suggested getting the people most impacted by it to fund it. Much easier to go after the young and working poor.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-58426792'Nitrous oxide: Patel orders Laughing gas review to decide on potential new law' The fucking cynicism makes me spit. Dogs kill more people in a month that nitrous oxide does in a year (and make much worse mess, and are more of a threat to children), and alcohol tops it every fucking day, plus, of course, make it illegal and all you do is surround it with violence, but the fucking 5 foot nightmare needs something to be be 'tough' on so another red herring to distract from every fucking other thing. Didn't think I could despise Patel more. Was wrong.

Hilary Mantel on Boris Johnson -
“I have met him a number of times, in different settings. I agree he is a complex personality, but this much is simple – he should not be in public life. And I am sure he knows it."
Please could someone in the public eye say this every single day, until he is dragged from number 10, and public life entirely, and put on display in a new "The absolute opposite of Humanity' exhibition at the Natural History Museum.
