Genuinely need an exit strategy from this hell hole. Retiring abroad seems a bit fanciful now though.

Who has Rabb in today's government mandated viral clip of idiocy sweepstake?

What does he even mean? What health care starts at home? Is he suggesting we do our own minor surgery?

I assume it's a point re looking after ourselves better, lifestyle changes etc but I'm not really sure. It's everything and anything they want it to be. We're on that precipice of people proudly stating they don't rely on handouts and that people have to make a choice between getting that new iPhone or treating their broken arm.

Was just about to rant about the same again. It's staggering. Not the PM's job to fix what's wrong? Well, whose fucking job is it then, especially when it's your government's policy interventions that have caused said problem! This narrative of high skilled, huge wages just doesn't stand up to any scrutiny. None of it stands up to scrutiny, none of it atall. It doesn't need to, there isn't any, and on the wild off chance a question somewhere does land and can't be dodged, it's immigrants the EU the Chinese Covid Tony Blair (which is then parroted in all supporting media). And whatever route the question arrived from, steps will be taken to ensure there isn't a second. Forever.

I've said it before, but Javid was on the JP Morgan payroll (as an 'advisor') right up until he became Health Secretary. I do not think these two things are unrelated. JP Morgan are a significant investor in the US healthcare and pharmaceuticals industry.

Why won't these impoverished children take some fucking responsibility for being born into a low income household in an area of high social deprivation with poor educational and health outcomes? Little scrotes always looking for a handout or expecting me to pay. What's in it for me? I mean it's not like my entire wealth has been accrued from the labour or consumption their families.
If their low paid job doesn't pay enough they should just get a better job like my mate Tarquin did when he couldn't afford a new Range Rover for his wife. Don't worry about the fact that low paid job they held will still need someone to do it.
Always moaning, always wanting help from the state, why is it the responsibility of the government to step in it should be their family. You dont hear wealthy families bleating on for support do you? Because their success is purely down to work ethic and nothing else.
....
The Conservative conference has underscored that they really don't see anything as their responsibility - other than deregulation and privatisation. Seemingly they exist solely to grease the wheels of the "investment banking" class. What did Javid do before becoming a politician? How about Sunak? And Rees-Mogg? Would be a weird coincidence if basically the whole cabinet and their families make their obscene wealth through investment banking - eg avoiding paying tax to the state. I'm sure their metric of economic success is based entirely on the performance of the city and the markets.
And unlike the "titans of industry" of old, the investment class don't create jobs. There's very little trickle down as the money is tied up. There's even less made through taxation as the whole system is set up to avoid it.
I fucking hate Tories.

Will be interesting to see how the optics on this are handled by the UK media. The Supreme court ruling is doubtlessly correct in terms of the legislative framework, but not sure 'UK Government takes Scottish Government to court to ensure they can indeed strip children of their basic Human Rights' is a desirable headline.

We have a justice minister that doesn't know the definition of misogyny, and probably doesn't know that misandry is the related term.
