It’s shocking that they took no action in those two indecent exposure incidents just days before the homicide. One was in a McDonalds? Coppers clearly looking after their own.

It's genuinely terrifying. How on earth is any woman meant to have confidence in the police?

Has to lead to proper reforms - arrests have to be made by 2 officers. If suspect is female, then one officer should be female etc.

Yes, I suspect so. Obviously I've no idea of the logistics of it all, especially given policing numbers, but you would imagine if a single or two male officers are to make an arrest of a female suspect they might need to call for a female officer or female police liaison to attend the scene before taking the suspect into custody etc.
This is also really worrying:

I heard somewhere he owns the woodland he disposed of her body on....wonder what else they'll find on it, they must be giving it a good going over.
Is there anyone here who would still have a job if you committed an indecent exposure?

Is there anyone here who would still have a job if you committed an indecent exposure? I think he owns land adjacent to the woods where he dumped her body.

They do do background checks but it's to make sure you never once argued in favour of abolishing the monarchy.

It's genuinely terrifying. How on earth is any woman meant to have confidence in the police? You could probably put any at risk group in place of woman in that sentence and it would still be true.

Never mind if they want to or not eh? Fucking Tories bet the house on prole scum backfilling all these essential "unskilled" jobs and are now having hissy fits that it's not panning out that way. "You should be grateful to have a job you pleb"

"You should be grateful to have a job you pleb" They really should be grateful and take a leaf out of Raab's book when it comes to hardwork. I mean he works so hard he even takes work calls on holiday...

Worst idlers in the world we are. He and Truss, Patel, other shining lights currently 'governing' wrote a book on it But at least they're pressing ahead with the £20 benefit cut. That will show them

Obviously coming from Rabb it's meant in a 'we'll put these wretched criminal scum to work' kind of way, but actually it could be genuinely good in terms of rehabilitation/finding employment. But if course it's Rabb/this giving government, so they'll manage to fuck it up and remove any possibility of a good outcome from it.

That's exactly it though. They meant it as meat for the base... they have precisely no idea how they'd implement such a thing, not least without it becoming indentured servitude.

Just lock them in their trucks. All refuelling done by service station staff, and food delivered through a little window hatch. Hey presto - mobile prisons doubling as delivery trucks.

There's loads of retraining and job schemes for ex-offenders. I'm sure some would jump at the chance. Key is finding the right ex-offenders.

Went out looking for petrol again last night. I’m not sure what planet the bloody Tories are on saying it’s getting better and returning to normal, it’s not. Only one station with fuel out of the three I checked and that one was obviously rammed and queuing down the street

I got lucky, the independent one down the road from me had fuel when I went past last night. 140.9l, £25 limit though, robbing fuckers.

Went past a garage yesterday morning with one car in it so I managed to get 30 quids worth without any queuing. It was a bit weird as I had already passed 2 with reasonable queues. I think it depends where you are though as we are near the refinery here and it doesn't seem as bad as where my round is which is very much lord of the flies fuel edition.

In principle, using Prisoners to fill gaps in employment is not a bad idea, if safeguards are in place. By safeguards, I mean that they are paid a proper wage (not slave wages) to avoid companies exploiting them for cheap labour and maybe the potential for them to train/upskill, maybe have a little nest egg when released to help them transition back into the country.
However, knowing this government, in a few years, benefit fraud will become a criminal offense carrying a custodial sentence and society will have a new underclass/working poor to exploit. Sound like a tory wet dream TBH.

Managed to get petrol this morning. Tesco’s express was carnage due to the driving rain in Pompey, and the fact that the tanker wasn’t supposed to show up til 9am so they had barely any staff, but I’ve got enough to see me through a couple of weeks (after not filling up last week).
Did notice some workmen who filled up their van and then decided to all get one of those Costa’s from the machine. And another lady who had to do her Euromillions there and then, despite the fact it meant the staff lady had to change the roll of paper (or something).
Have some self awareness you bellends!

Some of the anecdotal reports of women's experiences with the police are truly chilling. Something has to change.
