We're going the right way to be run by right wing cunts again soon enough. I don't give a shit anymore, just like the US.
Fuck you, country, fuck you planet.

Pretty much, I also have no confidence that we won't have populist dickheads in power within 5 years. I find it really hard to not have a bleak outlook.

Maybe they are and I don't hear it, but Labour really need to start emphasizing what they're going to use the money from farmer inheritance tax, fuel payments, etc.. for that will make the country and people's lives better.
Because pretty much all that stuff is going to take a long time to kick in, which means years of people complaining about what they've lost before anyone appreciating the benefits.
They were pretty clear when they came in that it was going to be short term pain for long term gain, but with the summer recess they've had 4 months of negative headlines with very little positive news.
It seems like a lot of it is still in the planning stages, or awaiting reports, which is sensible... but also not really helping their case.
If they could say "We don't really want to change the inheritance threshold for farmers, but we feel it's more important to fun this xxx for hospitals/schools/etc.." as that will benefit a larger number of people and society as a whole then that'd be nice.

They sort of are doing that, but only in general terms and not going into specifics. More "we have to fix the problems left over by last government" and "our public services need more money", rather than "this will pay for 10,000 new police officers" or "this will fix 75% of the pot holes on our roads". And I'm not sure even if they were giving specifics the message would get through, as media is so dominated by the right-wing, whilst the left-wing media isn't too thrilled with Starmer and his government either.
As I think I said in the US thread, the UK government's approval ratings just seem to have transferred over from one team to the other team, with barely an acknowledgement of there being a transition. There is a long way to go and that narrative can be changed if the everyday person starts seeing real change. I expect when we start seeing things like breakfast clubs for primary school kids (something that has supposedly made massive difference in London), then people might start warming to them.
It is really hard to break the negativity though and those 4-5 years before another election will go by quicker than I expect they anticipate. Plus there are Welsh and Scottish elections in less than 2 years, along with local elections along the way, all of which can really embed a narrative of a failing government.

To get through to the thickos maybe put "instead of giving lots of inheritance money to millionaire farmer tax dodgers. Lets give the money to the NHS" on huge red bus

I think specifics would have a better chance of getting through, though maybe they'll just have to resort to the bus method.

The populous are thick and need simple messages, details scare them and they zone out.
Yes, that is contemptuous to my fellow countrymen man but that's all I really have for most of them.

Not really. All of these fact checking, verify services clearly mean fuck all. People just believe what they want to believe. Fuck them.

Tax experts have looked into the detail though, and from memory it will affect less than 500 farms a year, most likely about 120.

Romanian elections: How a few hundred accounts coordinated on telegram can sway the algorithm and an election.

of course these idiots don't want to confirm anything, just believe anything on social media
Russia is suspected to be behind this as this candidate is pro-putin
