I do love all the sensationalist headlines for nothing stories. Todays favourite from whatever bot account posts "stories" from the Express. "Germany could quit EU with bloc 'falling apart at the seams' as illegal immigration soars"
In fairness they do backtrack in the first sentence with "a UK-based Brexiteer has suggested."

Lads I think I've cracked it.
Cut the winter fuel allowance, kill off some pensioners, significantly reduce pool of Tory voters.
Labour for life.
Or something.

Some oldies actually making sense on the winter fuel allowance. Gotta say I was surprised to see Robert De Niro show up halfway through, he definitely doesn't need it. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gegy4r9ndo

Getting grumpy with James O'Brien this morning and uncertain whether it is just my biases showing. He has done the whole first hour on Starmer accepting money for clothes for him and his wife, and letting callers say stupid things like "how dare he take this money and then take money away from pensioners."
These are completely different pots of money! The donations are party donations that are put towards their election campaign. You can argue whether it was well spent, but it was always going to be spent on the campaign and nothing else (and the results of the election suggest they were doing something right with how they allocated money).
The issue is one about declaration and basically boils down to an admin error. A stupid mistake that you can perhaps argue is a sign of poor judgement, but that is about as far as you can go with the story.

The unfortunate reality is that with a predominantly right-wing press Starmer needs to be squeaky clean - they'll hold him to higher standards than Johnson, Truss etc. He knew this going in and it's a bit of a daft oversight on his and his wife's part.

Just ask yourself ‘would a Tory do this’ and do the opposite. It’s not hard.
If you campaign purely on being ‘change’ then you can’t be letting donors give you money for clothes, ffs. What next? Laura Ashley wallpaper?

It’s nowhere near as bad as the tories but still, accepting money for anything is stupid and he should know it’s easy ammunition.

I fully expect we'll have 4 years of not much happening then the Tories or someone worse will get in and then we'll be well and truly fucked, but at least the flag shaggers and simple minded dickheads will be happy.

At the moment it seems like we might get 4 years of sound government policy (that's also a bit too timid, but a long shot better than what went before) but such poor messaging that at the next election everyone is none the wiser.

Laura Ashley wallpaper? A Tory wouldn't have done this. They would have chucked the £20k back and told the donor to stick a zero on the end. This was funds to buy clothes for the campaign trail. Unfortunately, people put a lot of stock in appearance when deciding who to vote for.

What gets me about the clothes story is a stupid mistake that was easily avoided. Starmer is not hard up, his wife is still working in the NHS but it's not like they couldn't afford to dress nicely.
You say "thank you for the offer but I'm going to have to refuse it."

He's now suggesting that he needs corporate comps to watch Arsenal for security reasons. Just fucking buy one then.

I know Arsenal tickets are expensive but I didn't realise you needed a millionaire sweatshop owner to be able to afford one.

So sending illegal immigrants to Rwanda is bad, but sending them to Albania is fine.

I assume the Albania system is actual processing while Rwanda was just dumping people there and that was that.

The Italian scheme to process migrants in Albania is different from Rwanda. Our "centre-right" party was proposing something much worse than the far-right party of Italy. The big difference is successful applications do go to Italy. Our plan had them remaining in Rwanda (edit - as Whizzo says above).
Also, Starmer hasn't said they will be adopting it. He said they will keep an eye on it, but he is more interested in discussions what they have already done.
Personally, I don't see much issue with processing applications in a third country, if those that are successful then get a flight sorted to arrive in the UK. Ideally, there would be multiple processing centres in countries across Europe where this can be done.

You say "thank you for the offer but I'm going to have to refuse it." I struggle to see the issue here. We have a system that says "if you receive gifts, it's OK as long as you declare it". Someone receives a gift and declares it (eventually) but now it's apparently not OK? If this is such a concern, tell them they can't accept anything that could be viewed as an attempt to buy favour - just like many of us.
