Some good news for the day, Sideshow God AKA Calvin Robinson is leaving the country. Apparently he can't live in this communist hellhole anymore... God, he's about over 6 years too late with that tired trope. Must try harder.

On the smoking ban...
"Sophie said she understood the dangers of smoking, but described smoking areas as “part of British culture”. “It’s a chance for people to meet in person rather than on apps – it’s buzzy and fun and I wouldn’t change it. I’ve met my boyfriend, made friends and cemented relationships through smoking areas, and I’d be gutted for that to be lost.”"
It's so funny this! When I was 21 I think smoking was still just everywhere on nights out. Smoking areas didn't exist.

My go-to opener used to be just asking for a light. Route one but effective and now lost to the sands of time.

As someone who is quit, though keeps having drunk lapses, I'd say ban fucking selling the damn things but let people smoke in pub gardens. 95% of smokers will just stop (or vape) if they can't get it from the corner shop. But if you've brought a carton back from your holiday in France, whatevs. The cigarette smoke in a garden isn't the problem.
Smoking while drinking is a problem point when you're trying to quit. But really the problem is that when your will power is low (also due to depression or stress) they're so easily available. Just stop fucking about and ban them.

Knock off cigarettes is already a big enough issue as it is, without encouraging even more of them by banning them. Making them more socially unacceptable is far more effective.

Is there a way to avoid showing publicly that you've blocked someone?
From a techy data-diving point of view it's very interesting data, but it seems like it could also open up trouble for some people if everyone can see that they've blocked Trump or someone with a following of nutters.

They’ve been hollowing out dentistry, optometry, hearing and other services for decades. Podiatry appointments are like gold dust. It’s an essential service, especially for old people and they move heaven and earth to make the appointment because miss one and you’re off the list. It will take years to get back on it.
It’s all baseline recalibration. Make the each generation expect less from the health service. Just think back to what was available for your family when you were a child and compare it to the situation now.

I typed a massive post about this earlier and went to hit create post and hit one of those annoying little buttons underneath causing me to lose the post.
I do that quite often but it doesn't normally matter as it's usually about 10 words.
Doesn't add anything to the discussion but I needed to get it off my chest 😂

Or carrying a light despite not smoking. That counts as date rape, those days.

someone at work is trying to get on the list at the dentist near me and its long waiting list.
I have private medical via work but not sure what its like, need to be higher level to get dental, I think I would of got hygienist appointment much less than want I had to pay.
Fucking tory cunts, slowly running the entire country into the ground. One thing old gits vote tories but they tend to be the ones that need NHS services and not all rich. reminds of dumb republicans cheering as trump killed or tried to kill off "obamacare" aka affordable health act

Sky pundits have glossed over it... Ok now he's saying the club haven't talked to him about contracts! What a weird interview.
Bet the Liverpool directors loved that absolute power play.

Having recently learned the important lesson that nobody other than chronically online freaks care about that shit, she makes the bold decision to base her campaign around it.

I mean if she wants it back to how it used to be I guess someone can arrange it for her car to be stopped routinely. I'm sure she'd love that.

"Cleverly is now taking questions.
Q: What is your diagnosis of what went wrong for the party at the last election?
Cleverly does not engage fully with the question. Instead, he says every candidate will have to defend what they did. He has a record of delivery, he says."
Delivering warmed up shit isn't the flex you think it is mate.

And... "The sentencing of a 12-year-old boy, who was in court over two separate incidents, had to be postponed as his mother has gone to Ibiza."
