Farage's earnings are entirely unsurprising, but I fully expect them to have no effect on the impoverished morons who believe he represents them and vote for him.

Farage trying to justify his GB News payments has fallen flat on its face.

Wow the barrel has really been scraped, according to Guido Fawkes, Jonathan Gullis is going to start presenting on TalkTV on Friday.

I can't imagine that's particularly lucrative. Even after shutting down the TV station, they still have a surprisingly large cast of useful idiots on the payroll.

Being a cunt certainly seems to have a negative effect on how quickly you age. Roald Dahl wrote something similar, when he wasn't being dodgy about Jews, but didn't use the word cunt.

Huh? Having googled it. Gullis sort of has that man look of anywhere between 27 and 50. Generic white guy with a beard.

I was far more offended when I found out Garage, sorry Garage, was 60. As he's looked 60 for 15 years. Starmer is older but still looks in that generic 40 to 60 category. Depends on when you go grey.

Also the immediate response to the riots was fantastic, but it does worry me that there's been little else since.

I guess any serious attempt at discourse regarding people attacking immigrants has the real danger of giving the riots credibility of having some kind of cause beyond thugs rioting. That said I feel the public need something.

With an overwhelming avalanche of right wing content altering people's views and perception of society 24/7. Farage to half the daily papers help fuel and validate the worst fears of easily led. The the over 50's especially, who feel a genuine sense that their country is being taken away in some form, when their old neighbours are now people of colour and who might not speak the same language.

I might be being overly generous, but I feel this inherent unease, even fear is part human nature, especially to generations grew up during a different time. Especially so when such extreme voices influencing people, are allowed to give voice to this unease "othering" almost every ethnicity that isn't white and english.

I guess I feel there's a gaping void in response to the fear, racism and dog whistles that have become so accepted in the news media.

What makes me dispair to the point of making me feel depressed, is that the freedom of speach to that we pride and so many have fought for, is the same thing being used to rip society apart.

Never mind, we'll all be dead soon and it will be someone elses problem.

I think the furstration is probably the whole "more austerity" thing, having spent years saying that it's a ideological choice from the tories and not a necessity.

The article did say they want to increase public spending and make cuts in whitehall. That's not austerity apart from in whitehall which is shit but not a huge pile of shit.
