Suella as always trying to prove she's one of the "good ones".

Perhaps the most odious line, in a screed containing nothing but odious lines, is
Bull fucking shit, Suella. That's exactly why you're doing what you're doing - as Jambo said, to prove to those present that you're one of the "good ones."

Nah she'll get in, the members choose and she's as conspiratorial, mental and racist as it gets, which is completely in line with whatever passes for their thinking these days.
Works for me because she's also completely unelectable, policy illiterate, incoherent, and a failure at anything approaching an argument because she can't help but confuse the person with the ball. If not her then Badenoch Powell, and all of the same criteria applies. And Jenrick? Calling him a poundshop Gullis is an insult to the poundshop

She'll need the backing of a certain number of Tory MPs* before she can get on the ballot, right?
* Of course, these are an endangered species nowadays, so they'll have to change the rules anyway.

They get to spend 55k per candidate, so, artificially inflating the number (via Putin’s bot and ai army, or who the fuck ever) means they can chuck more money at ads on social media etc. There’s real gain to be had by fielding more people. I’d hope journalists are all over this and prosecutions follow but that sort of naivety left long ago. They apparently had far more social media than any of the other parties. www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj50qjy9g7ro

I take it this was a MAGA event of some sort? Regardless, she's an utterly vile piece of work... and chances are she'll be Leader of the Opposition before long.
How funny would it be, after all the incompetence around immigration and the Rwanda scheme, if their Immigration minister became the next leader?! Cos that worked so well for them... Personally, I think it'll be Patel. She's smarter than the other psychos, and she's also been suspiciously quiet since Boris left, and avoided associating herself with the Truss/Sunak disasters. The fact she's smarter probably also means she's more dangerous.

Maybe not, but maybe she can parlay her previous ones, and ramp them up a bit, to get the proper ultracunt demographic back on her side. Exciting times!

Whilst MPs may vote for them, the party membership may not. Can't think why...

Oh, Jenrick is the guy who resigned because he thought the Rwanda bill didn't go far enough? He probably has a good chance to get it then. Assuming the Tories are gonna keep circling the immigration/Reform toilet bowl for a while.

unfortunately that one is, private eye found him My hot take is that they are real but just randos who know ten people, dumped into seats they were never expected to go within a million miles of. There’s no way they had enough warm bodies to stand everywhere so of course they filled them with cannon fodder and topped up their promo material with AI stuff as they just looked like freaks in all of their own, real photos.

He’s also the guy who insisted the doctor’s waiting room style Disney murals in detention centres be painted over as they represented a comfortable pull factor attracting child migrants to Britain. Patel’s advantage isn’t just appearing smarter than the other likely candidates, its that the others are legitimately mental.

Sorry I can't have Priti Patel as the first prime minister to have that surname. My son is lined up for that 😝
More seriously, exactly what Dougs suggested, the membership will never vote for her.

Iirc one of the interesting things about Braverman is that she was reputably fucking shite at her pre politics job too and renowned for generally being a fucking idiot.
So it tracks that much like badenoch and Co that she doesn't realise there no amount of racism and bigotry she can engage in that will make her base actually truly bat for her.

Braverman's entire career seems to be failing upwards, she's not only incompetent but incredibly thick.
I'd be very surprised if the next Tory leader is anyone but a safe choice of a white, middle aged bloke after the last two.

If she does get enough support from MPs (big if), members won't select her. She isn't particularly liked by them, no matter how much she shouts there favourite talking points. Badenoch is their favourite by a considerable margin. If she is selected she will likely win and is currently the bookies favourite (with Jenrick second and Tugendhat third).

Why do they like Badenoch and not Braverman? They both basically spout the same stuff.

Have you ever seen it, Adrian? The White towers of Suffolk, glimmering like spikes of pearl and silver, their banners caught high in the morning breeze? Honestly, the best way to appease the naysayers is to cover every turbine in Union Jack livery. And stick a flag or 2 on the top. Boom, we're powered by patriotism. They are made from Lancaster bomber propellers as well.

Its astonishing that Braverman was Attorney General when her main qualifications were a disregard for the rule of law and willingness to let Boris off the hook whenever he needed it.
The new guy has 30 years experience as a barrister, is a deputy High Court judge and apparently has a big reputation for understanding international law.
Obviously, this is just another case of Labour appointing someone appropriate and that should be the minimum we’d expect but the Tories really have been scraping the barrel for years.

Anyway gentlemen prepare your popcorn: “the register of financial interests is retroactive to one year before members take their seats. As of today Farage and Tice have 28 days to make a complete declaration”
