I voted. Had to take my 8 year old with me. Made a tactical error and told her who I voted for (Green) and now I can’t lie and say I voted Labour if the Tories scrape a victory. They shouldn’t where I am, but with hindsight I probably should have stressed the “votes are secret” aspect with my kid. My dad always said that to me but I think that's because he was secretly voting Tory.

My dad would’ve genuinely voted Reform, but he’s dead now so I’ll that as a small comfort

My dad always said that to me but I think that's because he was secretly voting Tory. She watched me put my cross on the ballot, so she knows I’m not lying to her at least. Anyway, it might be naive, but my desired outcome is that Labour win in my constituency but there’s a noticeable last minute surge to Green and Lib Dems across the country that makes the leadership go “maybe we should appeal more to the left and less to the right”

Just been, looked like a very solid turnout from the amount of other names crossed out on the list. Now in the pub with a lovely pint, before going home for tea and counting down to the exit poll.
Despite lots of reservations with Starmer, it'll be nice to have adults back in the room.

To be fair I doubt there’s many blue dishes she could have showed off if she’d voted the other way

The level of apathy in my workplace is quite something.
It's a largish firm in the centre of London and I'd say less than half voted. Those that have are fairly ambivalent.
Be interested to see the % turnout.

Ended up voting Labour just now. I've met the current MP a few times as my former housemate is involved in local government, and she has always seemed decent.
Would have voted Green if the candidate hadn't been one of those "A nutter has slipped through the selection process" types who made more of a big deal about her singing in a choir associated with Extinction Rebellion than anything else.

Done. Won’t make much difference I suspect in this Tory stronghold. But I’ve done my bit at least!

Apparently that was the sandwich interview.
"What's your favourite food?"
*rubs thighs* "Mmmmmmmm... Baps"

I've got a few mates round for a poker night so the idea is to stay up and see but realistically I'll be too drunk.

I don't think I'll be able to stay up to see any of the exciting announcements. I'll probably see the exit poll then finish watching Beverly Hills Cop 4.

So this happened yesterday. Saw from this Sunak described as the dude who gets invited to an orgy and sits in the corner with nobody talking to him.

Who would ever invite him to an orgy?

What if it's a high turnout because even more people want shot of the Tories?

Who would ever invite him to an orgy? Good Morning Britain obviously

This popped up in my YouTube feed and is one of the best summaries of recent British politics I've stumbled across.

Could be wrong, but I would have thought a higher turnout would be bad for them.

This correlates to what I saw at mine, where you normally walk straight in at any time and maybe see two people already in there. Never once queued before

Yeah I really don't see how high turnout benefits the tories.
Sounds like some hefty copium.

I think a higher turnout suggests the “stop the supermajority” crap cut through. I don’t see extra labour people turning out when they’ve been told they’ve already won…?
