A bold effort from Jeremy to top last week's shenanigans. What it doesn't show is she drew a cock and balls in the conservative box! 😂

100k since 2019 is hardly top of my "what these cunts have pissed up the wall list" but if it hurts them more I'll take it.
Saw a bunch of people in VOTE PENNY tshirts struggling for breath and dignity at the side of the road in Hilsea earlier. I hope the sunburn is kicking in about now.

A bold effort from Jeremy to top last week's shenanigans. What did it say? Looks like there was a quote of a tweet from Hunt, but it has been deleted.

Gambling Commission collating list of anyone who had a bet larger than £20 on a July election. Trawling social media to establish links between Conservative personnel and others who had a bet. www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/crgggw4qkxzo

It’s incredible that there’s never been anything like this betting scandal happen before, why now and why so many tory cunts decided to have a flutter?

I think the issue isn't that they claimed expenses for their websites - it's that they all used a conservative party owned designer for them alld my understanding is that it's fine to claim web design on expenses if it's for constituency business/benefit, regardless of whether the designers are tory aligned or not
claiming tax payer expenses for party political purposes are the no-no, again, regardless of who did the design
ie. a website that says "this is where and when my next surgery is", "how to contact me, your representative" is fine to be funded from the public purse. a website that says "tory boys are hot, labour are not" is party political and taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for such drivel.
that it was a tory web outfit that took the fees is irrelevant as far as the rules go, albeit only to be expected from this shower of grasping twats
like fabulously hot user danno my suprise is that they only scalped the public for a mere hundred g

It’s been an extraordinary election. While everyone else on the right seems to be taking tips from the US, where if you’re losing you salt the earth and make sure nothing will ever grow there again, the Conservatives here have misunderstood the brief and have exclusively scorched their own back gardens to the ground. It’s an improvement on the Liz Truss method of pouring gasoline on everything before being body tackled to the floor and removed from the building, I suppose.

I have feeling that this sort of thing happens often. Supposedly, the reason Labour were able to get into campaigning mode so quickly is because they were monitoring bets on election dates and saw the spike. They wouldn't be keeping an eye if they didn't think people in the know would start throwing money down. Not sure if it just a case that the knives are out now or this is more blatant than other incidents, but I'm sure it happens often.

It could well open the floodgates and get some kind of clampdown on betting on these more controllable kinds of events.

I guarantee people have made a fortune from being on this in the past, but the data hasn’t been as accessible or the people were a bit less stupid about it.

It could well open the floodgates and get some kind of clampdown on betting on these more controllable kinds of events. It needs it, the horse racing industry clamped down on it massively after their betting scandal. As for politics though, when you’ve had a party that believes that rules don’t apply to them, I’m not sure if you can stop them.

Got flyers from two independents today.
One guy who is obsessed with how local he is. Headline policies: - wealth tax - personal tax allowance raised to £40k - Royal Commission to save the NHS - Bring back proper policing - Australian style immigration system to stop illegal immigrants - cutting red tape
The other was the Green candidate in the last three general elections but flying solo now. New platform: - end the war in Gaza - stop the cost of living crisis - clean water - proportional representation - restrict generative AI - safeguard women and child by protecting single-sex spaces and sports (this is actually the top of her list)

I like how an independent standing for MP in the UK parliament stands on a promise to end the war in Gaza 🙄

If the independent's name was Clark Kent it could be possible but he could then have sorted that out himself already so they're probably not some superhero or similar.

i caught sight of an independent candidate's flyer in rushcliffe, nottingham last week and regret i didn't take a photo as it's full on mad. deeply curious mix of hippy woo, "left" coded glorious social communism, and far right "anti-woke" nonsense, all threaded through with some freemen on the land / sovereign citizen, pro green organic farming while anti net zero
anyway, did find their twitter and this glorious vision of a future britain under their guidance:

What the actual fuck... Thought it was a bit weird to have net zero on the "bad" side, then spotted that CO2 bit... Absolute batshit insanity.

Patient led healthcare is what I want. I totally bossed it with the surgeons and the specialists when the baby was needing her open heart surgery. If it wasn’t for me giving them helpful hints and tips and leading them by the hand she would never have made it.
