We actually scored from a corner, such a rarity nowadays.
Eriksen has been class tonight.

Antonys 720 degree spin was the highlight of the half, forget about the goal

Yeah, made even better for turning Robbie Savage to "Old man shouts at cloud".

Eriksen is class, always has been but he's been great tonight. And the spin, lol. I like that kid.

Yeah, looked decent tonight. Much better against a side sitting deep than in recent years.
This summer's signings have improved us greatly.

Passing range and quality from Eriksen and Casemiro must be as good as any CM pairing.

Yeah, regardless of where we end up this year at least it's entertaining again.

That Anthony double-spin-to-kick-the-ball-out video doing the rounds on social media is definitely entertaining.

I thought the team was very good when Ole first came in, is what I said basically. Think I remember a win over PSG then, not Sheriff lol.

Last season we would have drawn that. I was dreading another Omonia type game but again we did score in that too.
Old man Roonie really does slow down our game though.

I honestly don't know why you feel the need to equate the good results under Ole to the performances now.
When Ole first came in and for large spells of the second season we were chaotic, often entertaining but rarely controlled.
Do you not remember that a large part of the foundations of the unbeaten run were us conceding 1 or 2 first, playing terribly for the first 45, coming out of the blocks and blitzing teams for about 15 - 20 minutes in the second half and just about winning the match.
I understand not wanting to get carried away but we are just factually a better watch, it's obvious there is a clear game plan and always an option for the man on the ball, we have quality everywhere and players who previously looked rubbish, look miles better. There will be plenty more ups and downs along the way but the progress is there.

Certainly the recruitment had been the best it's been, especially in midfield, possibly since Ferguson. I dunno, I think in the Chelsea game the players still had very few ideas in attack. It's ok against open teams like Spurs and the current shitty Liverpool. But against the more organised defensive teams I'm still not fully convinced.
But yeah. Factually Casemiro and Eriksen are a good bit better than Fred and Mctominay. Lol

I thought the Spurs game was as good a team performance as we've had in years.

Spurs being an open team is funny. It was funny, they were absolutely awful lol. Should have scored 6 or 7.

I'd say in terms of control and dominance it was one of the best in over a decade. Yes that goes back into SAF time.

Errm did we not dominate Chelsea and should have scored multiple times in the first half?

It would seem a lot people don't remember quite how bad it was under Ole. Other than his first 10 games it was pretty much awful to watch 90% of the time with the odd good win when the combined star power of a few players had a good game (which was in no way related to Ole's tactics).
I'll never forget the Sheffield United at home game where we lost 1-2, Sheffield had been thumped by every team in the league then they game to OT and played us off the park. Ole literally did not have a clue what to do.
That combined with his obvious need to be best mates with most of the squad and his refusal to drop his underperforming favoured players (AWB, Shaw, Maguire, Fred, Scott etc.) was unbearable.

Errm did we not dominate Chelsea and should have scored multiple times in the first half? Basically. We definitely still lack a bit of an edge, that's for sure. We're a long way behind the top teams still, which is basically unforgivable considering our spend, but at least we look like we give a shit again. This season won't be boring often, I don't think. Frustrating, maybe. But if I wanted something that was the same every time, I'd follow golf or bowls or something.

Spurs and open definitely aren't words that should be in the same sentence. Unless accompanied by "are absolutely fucking not".

We were fucking abysmal under Ole and relied completely on individual moments of brilliance to make our results look even slightly respectable.
What we have now is a team; capable of actually stringing passes together, developing an understanding resulting in decent patterns of play and working for each other when we lose the ball. You could make an alien watch a game from each era and it could easily point out which one is objectively better.

It also must not be forgotten that this is a manager who was let down in the summer. We were scrabbling around trying to sign Arnautovic and Rabiot 2 games into the season before getting lucky that Casemiro became an easy option. He's done a fantastic job so far.
