This is just the gift the keeps on giving. The best bit with this development is where Kotick now admits he wrote it, but at the time, after it was not well-received, he literally criticised it (and by implication, Fran Townsend, the woman he was catfishing as), calling it "tone-deaf". This is a dude being paid like $300m a year ineptly catfishing his own employees. Holy fuck.

It just shows you can have absolutely no appreciable skillset at all and still be CEO. And yet Kotick, if he does actually go, will be off with a golden parachute, his shares and a massive fucking pension.
Not really much karma there.

I think for a certain type of person, the disgrace from having to leave a position like that is as damaging as any financial hit from it. If not moreso.
Which isn't much of a balm in terms of karma, but it's something.

Don't forget the $790m or whatever it is that he currently already has! They could literally throw him naked into the street and he'd currently have more money than hundreds of average Western people even make (and spend) in a lifetime (thousands or maybe even millions outside the West), and far more than even a rich prick like him has any idea how to spend. But as MolarAm says, he may well be incredibly hurt if fired, because he's been with Activision since I think the 1980s, and believes he is untouchable and totally hot shit. I'm sure being able to build a literal Scrooge McDuck vault and swim in his money might help him feel better though.

I dunno, Kotick once said he struggles with dates, because he would mention who he is and what he does and his date would then google him and find all this heinous shit about him and choose to not pursue the relationship any further. And this is before all this sexual harassment news came out. Perhaps there's some karma in knowing he will remain a dateless, romanceless fuck. But to be clear, he should also get sacked

Well he said he takes "full responsibilty", and like always when someone says that, I assume "responsibility" doesn't include "consequences".

For me it's not a matter of better statements or structural changes or whether Kotick stays or goes. I hope those things happen, and that the lives of the people working there genuinely improve, but I'm out. I wasn't fond of Activision-Blizzard before this and at this point there's nothing they could do that would make me want to have anything to do with them in the foreseeable future.

Kotick was annoyed by the number of images online showing him with devil horns. He'd previously said it bothered him a bit, but that his daughters found the images funny.
A few years later, in a New York Times article that was arguably positive towards Kotick, he seemingly joked with the comment asking people to think about what it meant for his dating life when the first image someone would find was of him as the Devil. Though the follow-up line made a bit more dubious, where he claimed so many devil-horn images showed up because the search results were being gamed by super-smart kids that were more effective than his expensive PR firm (which I want to recall he said while sitting next to one of his PR guys?)

How much is he worth? I somehow suspect he won't have any trouble getting a date. Ever.
Not that I want to imply that women are only after one thing...

I see that it's equal pay day today according to twitter. The day when women pretend they don't earn the same as men to stir up pointless outrage.

You think that for the most part, women don't earn less than men for doing the same job? And the reasons for that? As nick says, demonstrates the need for such a day then.

I am always genuinely astounded when people try to claim women earn the same as men. It is just such a blatantly stupid comment that I can't believe anyone would honestly say something like that in good faith. I always try to work out whether it is someone trying to be edgy or whether they are 12 years old and never actually seen the world.
See also people who say racism doesn't exist anymore etc.

Equal pay and the gender pay gap are two seperate issues though. Equal pay for the same job is protected under law and hasn't been an issue for many many years.
The gender pay gap is a legacy issue from the olden days when only men got the top high paying jobs and you can't just sack them and replace them with women because that would be sexist so that will only resolve itself over many more years as the old blokes die off and/or retire. There's also some other stuff about having kids, working part time etc. It's obviously slightly more nuanced than that but it's not the horrendous problem that it's made out to be.

I really enjoy whenever you have absolutely awful women who are millionaires, like Amy Schumer and that awful football lass talk about pay gap.

We can talk about whatever we like safe in the knowledge that no-one outside these pages will ever read them. I'm extra safe because by virtue of being a middle aged, average earning, straight white male absolutely no one on the planet gives the slightest fuck about what my opinions might be.

Equal pay and the gender pay gap are two seperate issues though. Equal pay for the same job is protected under law and hasn't been an issue for many many years. The mission statement for equal pay day is literally 'to help us raise awareness about the wage gap for women and its impact on women and their families'

Um... protected under law doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Race discrimination is illegal, but would you honestly argue white males don't earn more and find it easier to get hired. Damn I was hoping you were being sarcastic, but my lack of faith in humanity is justified again.

They say a woman's work is never done. Maybe that's why they get paid less?
