They've definitely improved the performance of this with all the patches. Running in path traced mode ultra settings on ultra wide with just DLSS quality and it's sitting around 55 to 65 fps. Well chuffed with that honestly. Visually it still blows me away. It's a shame they're dumping this engine and going all in on unreal tech.

Is that at an ultrawide 4K resolution and with DLSS 3 turned on? I've not played the game yet (holding off until the updates come) but did some benchmarking when I got my 4090 and that sounds about what I was getting on my 4K TV. Think I had frame gen on. Wasn't sure whether the benchmark was accurate of actual gameplay though. I'm likely to be playing on my 1440p ultrawide monitor, so I was expecting to be able to max it out and be able to have consistent >60fps, maybe even without DLSS 3.

I might need to drop down to high.
Given that the difference is barely noticeable I think I'll cope.
Either that or it's time to blow my savings on a new R I G.

Vandelay yeah the ultawide is 4k width but 1600 height. Everything maxed but just DLSS 2, not DLSS 3 framegen. I've got it all patched up and progressed the story to the point where I'm free to go anywhere and now ready for the dlc.

I'm only using Geforce Now and it gets around 90fps at 1440p DLSS 3 Quality mode with path tracing using a 4080. It's actually incredible.

Yay, now I'm in minimum... I guess perhaps it will still be ok with some more fiddling around. Wouldn't mind replaying it before I have to replace this Notebook. Could be years after all.

I was unaware the relic skill tree was part of the expansion. No worries I've already bought it which I rarely do but I think they've really brought this game up to what it should have been so I'm willing to pre order.

Still think it's mad to preorder anything from CDRP after the Cyberpunk release and not sure they deserve good will for doing what they should have in the first place when they took people's money

CP is an unfortunate abbreviation when you think about it

Ooooh, I have that weekend to myself. Quite looking forward to this now (have owned it for about a year but had decided to wait for the overhaul).

Still haven't finished CP and yet finding it v hard to care about the 2.0 update. Horse has bolted. Yes same. I periodically go back to it and do a bit more but have never finished the main campaign. I was fortunate enough to play it near release on high end PC hardware so wasn't as hampered by the technical issues as most, but whilst it was enjoyable, it never totally grabbed me. I certainly got my money's worth but it's difficult to get excited about playing more. I think a large part of that was that the world didn't totally convince in the way it does in Rockstar games. Sounds like this patch goes some way to address that but we needed these features two/three years ago to really make the game a classic. I'm sure I'll eventually play the DLC but Starfield and BG3 have me occupied for the next year.

I only ever did the first few hours of this a couple months after launch on Series X, think sacked it off when got wind a 60fps patch was in the works.
Now that patch is long since out and with all the 2.0 improvements too I'm thinking of bailing on starfield (2 hrs in) to rinse this instead... and hope that by the time I have, Starfield may have a 40 or 60fps mode or at least decent HDR calibration.

I genuinely think you're dreaming about Starfield ever getting a 60fps on console.

I finished the campaign at launch, great game and story. I’ve restarted a few times but always get stuck at “I’ll wait for that patch that got advertised” Not sure if I’ll continue the playthrough I paused for THIS update or start again again and then get paused on patches to this update.

I genuinely think you're dreaming about Starfield ever getting a 60fps on console. Digital Foundry mocked up a PC to Series X spec, dropped the resolution to 1440 and dialed down some settings and were getting close to a 60 performance target. With VRR it would do me nicely. Failing that I absolutely think a 40fps mode for 120hz screens is viable and an obvious improvement on the current offer.

Sure, but Bethesda barely implemented any standard options and the PC version is also an unoptimised mess. It's not really about whether it can be done.

I mean, it *is* about whether it can be done otherwise developer will is moot. Whether or not Bethesda choose to do it is a totally different kettle of fish as you say, although their last 4 games all received 60fps updates...eventually.

I think Fallout 4 still doesn't have the 60fps patch other than through FPS Boost, right?

Nope, I think they said end of this year for the F4 next-gen patch, but that they don’t really give a toss because Starfield coming out and all. I’ll revisit it after a next-gen patch but not holding my breath for it to come out.

That's great as my female V looks stunning in her dayglo pink shorts. How clothes worked after few patches also meant that armour was disconnected from clothes. Just made it more cumbersome. Will that impact crafting? Crafting clothes and upgrading them was one of the things which could make you OP.
