As an aside, that's surely the smallest pool worth putting in a garden.

At least he's out of hospital. US cops really do have their default status set to 'aggro and shoot first' don't they. Why would the cop even have his gun drawn in that situation? And 11 years olds aren't big and scary.

1 person won the Euromillions last night. 111 Million.
Made me wonder what I'd do if I'd played and won.
1: buy a house outright /furniture etc. Lets say that's 750k (probably less)
2: work out how much money I'll realistically need for the rest of my live. Say 50k a year for 50 years, thats 2.5m. Maybe keep 3m to account for inflation over the years (I'm currently living a comfortable life on a less than 30k a year, and that's with paying rent. 50k a year with no mortgage or rent would easily see me through).
3: Retire from working for a living, potter around. Focus on hobbies and interests like art.
4: give a 3 million to family members each, so 10 million-ish.
5: give a few million to a couple of close friends. Thats what 4-5 million.
I'd still have what, over 90 million left. I'd honestly give it to various charities. What the fuck am I going to do with that much money? I have no interest in having money for the sake of it or pursuing a flashy lifestyle.

Yeah, it's a silly amount of money to have. Sadly not me this time...
I'd instantly halve it with the missus and we could sort out our individual families out of our portion. Pay off the house straight away and then start looking for somewhere a bit bigger, but not some insane mansion, just 3-4 bedrooms with a few extra rooms would do. The best part would be being able to buy a place, make sure decorations are up to snuff and then just take our sweet time moving. None of that rushing to move on the day of completion nonsense.
Then yeah, figure out how much we actually need to live a very comfortable life and give the rest away.

I would pay off my student loan, my sisters and parents debts, buy a small plot of land and build a house from scratch, then buy an old pub and do it out as a punk/metal live music venue.

And the award for 'Most *Florida* News Story of the Year' goes to...
A Florida woman’s car caught fire with her children inside while she allegedly shoplifted in a mall
The fuck is wrong with that state?
It's as though all the craziness in the entire country has somehow been funnelled into FL, before said insanity took on anthropomorphic form and decided to run for governor.

Occurs I have never been to Florida but I think state laws are different down there such that you, or your local neighborhood clickbait news site, can get so much more info about police/judicial actions in florida than in other states (ie. similar dumb shit happens in Georgia* but inquiring journos will just get "a woman has been arrested and is helping with inquiries")

Seems pretty sound to me. I'd say Cornwall is pretty 'northern'. Plus they do their cream teas wrong. If anyone's interested, in Japan there is an East-West gap, and it's often defined in terms of food, such as Curry, Tamagoyaki (omelet - E:salty, W:sweet), Mochi (rice cakes - E:square, W: round) etc.. I watched a tv show where they tracked down the exact town were the Curry Divide occurs. Curry in the East is mainly made with beef, in the west it's mainly made with Pork.

I mean, that's a bit perplexing, I get that she's committed a crime/assaulted someone etc, she clearly knew exactly what she was doing but I feel she needs some counseling rather than a custodial sentence. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-65907380

Japan finally getting into the 20th century with regards to things like rape and age of consent. www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-65887198Not perfect, but a heck of a lot better than it was before. Hopefully at least a decent step towards improving the hugely sexist attitudes of society and also putting a dent in the weird obsession with underage girls.

Hopefully at least a decent step towards improving the hugely sexist attitudes of society and also putting a dent in the weird obsession with underage girls. In a 2014 Tokyo case, for instance, a man had pinned a 15-year-old girl to a wall and had sex with her while she resisted. He was acquitted of rape as the court ruled his actions did not make it "extremely difficult" for her to resist. The teenager was treated as an adult.
