Do they broadcast that live? Showing the world what cards people have in their hand? Rarely - live tournament poker isn't great TV due to the unpredictable length of time needed, and the number of hands that are won pre-flop - and if live then only with a delay. The hole cam is only available to the broadcasters. I think 95% she just played really badly, and possibly misread/misremembered her cards. If she were cheating she wouldn't have called pre-flop. |

On the chess cheating front, it's now being alleged that Hans Niemann likely cheated in over 100 online games: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63140246No word on whether or not he had a vibrating device nestled against his sphincter at the time, though. As for the poker allegations, there hasn't been a material update insofar as I'm aware. |

I've played quite a lot of poker and that's a mad call. You don't jeopardise your stack like that. I can't quite work out how she would have been cheating though, with 2 cards to come and still quite a few outs for him though. Was still a coin toss ultimately.

While I know little or nothing about poker, I read quite a bit about this story when it first broke, and came out reasonably convinced that she hadn't cheated; now I'm not quite so sure, in light of that announcement.

Fine by me. I've read some more and watched more of the aftermath in the stream, and I'm now convinced something is up. When 20 mins later she can't explain why she did what she did, it really stinks. I think that's the point Phil Ivey has to leave the table because he basically can't keep a straight face.

If I started out 80/20 in favour of Robbi being innocent, I'm probably down to 60/40 now. There's a lot of circumstantial evidence, alongside a bunch of odd coincidences, but I'm yet to see anything that constitutes a smoking gun to my mind.
Still, I certainly feel that a full and thorough investigation is required, and I'm looking forward to seeing what conclusions are drawn.
