Maybe I don't watch as much rugby as the ITV commentators but I'd suggest flying into someone without using your arms is a penalty no matter how much they whinge.

Yeah, not sure what planet they are on. You haven't been able to just shoulder charge the ball carrier with no arms for over a decade now. Just a penalty given no sig danger but it was an obvious foul. |

We're allowing head on head tackles today then. Yeah how the hit on Dempsey wasn't at least a yellow is baffling. I just celebrated winning a scrum against the head against the Boks like it's a quarter final victory. And yes this is a proper game. So far. |

Seeing it again it was obviously red based on the standards of yesterday. I don't see a way for World Rugby to talk their way out of that. Players even raised it with the ref 'in the right way'.

I feel we deserved to lose. That fucking lineout. SA turned on the heat for 10 minutes and that was enough. Not sure the score line is reflective.
I am genuinely fuming at the ref though. That tackle was a red. They constantly had one hand on the floor during rucks. Offside 50% of the time. The ruck was a fucking shit show.
But our line out was sooooooo shit we did not deserve to win. Again.

Cheers, Danno. Yeah, that looks like a clear-cut red to me (especially given Curry's dismissal yesterday, with which I agreed 100%). A shame about the result, particularly after a good first half for Scotland.
Russell showed his class once again, with two try-saving tackles towards the end.

Agree that the refereeing was dodge but Scotland literally threw it away in the first half with just abject lineouts. If we had capitalised on half the throws we could have taken a lead at half time.
SA are a seriously good side though. Not many teams will be as close as Scotland were.
