Yeah that is a great area for sure for farming once it’s clear. The entire section getting to it (Ritual Path) was a right pain. I found 4 1 and 4 2 really tough. Yeah, 4-2 is hardest bit in the game on my last run. Its not very long so you try to speed run it if you die but as a magic man, quite a few things can one shot you as youre running past. Its a lot easier with the thief ring on because at least the floating rays dont shoot you. |

I managed to kill Doran this morning. For some reason this time the Baby's Nail took hold (I think it was because I was spamming a 2H R1 last time as opposed to a 1H R1 - I must have needed the speed in order to build up the plague sufficiently) and I kited him out to the catapults where he got caught at his aggro limit. I finished him off with arrows as his health ticked down.
Finished Mephistopheles quest as well so have ONE more ring to get that I need PW CT for. I'm hoping if I kill the black phantom in each world that will be enough to push me to PW from PB but I have my doubts, so it may need to be done in NG+. Looks like I'll need a few NG cycles to get all the spells etc anyway, then that's me done. Although black phantom Setsuki took me a few tries. He's a bastard.
Currently farming eye stones in PB 5-2 from the big red deprived one near the dirty colossus archstone. Didn't realise it was a guaranteed drop from him. Handy.

Black Phantom Satsuki was an absolute shithead. On the bright side, it was where I finally realised Soul Remains actually have a use - chucking a few of these made it manageable.

Yeah he's a twat. It's the fact he pelts towards you at the start and if you don't keep right near the archstone you aggro the bloody skeleton who joins in as well. It's a right sod. As it was, I just Baby's Nailed the fucker, then kept my shield up and went for backstabs with my crushing bastard sword. Twat.

Nah, not really. I don’t think it’s worth diluting your stat pool. The only one I used was the teleport spell.
But ymmv and all that

I mean, I don’t know the game comprehensively but because it scales with magic I didn’t find a better sword in the game.
With a high magic stat and upgrading it to +4 meant I could one shot 90% of every enemy in the game. Plus most bosses are weak to magic so the falchion just ruins them if you have to get up close.
You may find something better, tho, but I never did.

Apart from that. I managed to punch Dragon God's big stupid face in with the Hands of God, so I've now got that trophy as well. Need that one ring from the monumental to get THAT trophy, then that leaves... Four I think. All miracles, all spells, shoot the adjudicator's chicken, and kill the tower knight without killing any archers.
The two boss trophies I'll get soon but I THINK I'm going to need to go through to NG+2 to get all the spells and miracles. Better make a list to see what's left to get.

Well. Pointless update number 403.
Killed black phantom Miranda on ng+ even though she one shot me seven million times and was one off PWCT. Balls. Reluctantly went to 4-1 in prep for wasting more eye stones to turn it black and face off against Setsuki when, as I got there, I kindly got invaded. Killed him and that gave me the PW I needed. So the ring trophy popped. Whoop. Killed Adjudicator by shooting the chicken and tower Knight without killing the archers for the next two and now I just have 3 left. Need to make Northern Regalia which is no bother as have both swords, and then just run through to ng++ and finish grabbing all the spells and miracles.
Not sure why I'm doing this but it's the only souls minus sekiro I haven't platted so thought why not.

I've killed him countless times but I've never had a viable tactic other than frantically roll his slams and hope I don't get hit. The additional damage he's doing now means he's wearing me down. I'm annoyed because he's one of the only bosses in the entire series that I don't have a melee tactic for other than panicked rolling and constant healing.

So, 5-1 is bloody horrible in NG+ isn't it. Finally passed it though but I kept dying so much and insisting I went human that I turned the bloody palce black now. Joy. Didn't even change when I killed Leechmonger. Also managed to accidentally aggro the old woman merchant so cue the terrifying moment when she walked towards me in the darkness, faced fixed upon me and expressionless, like a fucking Terminator. Didn't want to kill her as that would lower my CT so tried to kite her away but she would not bloody stop. Couldn't lure the giant depraved one back so tried to leg it passed him and it all went south. Kept getting invaded as well. Can't deny it was all quite amusing though.
Also, Maneaters in NG+ are not much better, but they're dead now.
All I have left of this run is 5-2, 5-3 then 1-3 & 1-4. Then onto NG++. I need to kill Dragon God, Astrea and Old Monk in that and then that'll be the last of my spells / miracles.
So... Fun awaits as I try to navigate world 5, or world 3 in NG++. Oh, and kill Flamelurker again.

Update time, I know you're all desperately waiting to hear how I'm getting on.
5-2 wasn't much better, and I'd turned the fucking thing black. Ended up sprinting for the primeval demon to get things on an even keel. I then went to take on Dirty Colossus and summoned a chap (trying to summon as much as poss as I never got the chance to before - seem a lot more signs around these days) and he pretty much obliterated the great stinking ball of congealed sewage with firestorm. I then shot a lady in the face and put Garl out his misery, swapping her soul for the last miracle, so that trophy popped.
Two trophies left. One of which is the plat. Just need the spells, but I'll need NG++.
Went and did 1-3 so going to do 1-4 later and that's a wrap for NG+.
Not sure what to level tbh. My str is at 40 but I'm mainly using Northern Regalia as I have PWCT anyway. Just getting my vit and end up to 40 each and intermittently pumping into FTH and INT. I would get this crushing guillotine axe up to +5 but I can't honestly be fucked farming for greystone. Maybe I will though. I got another pure from Scirvir so I suppose it's just chunks I need. I put the other Guillotine Axe I had to +10 but it's still a bit wank. Really needs to be crushing.
