Iran is supposedly launching a ballistic missile attack on Israel imminently. Really, really, really glad where this has gone.

Iran has quite a similar military force to Israel so it could be quite messy. I know the Israeli army has a lot of American kit but they could be potentially better defending multiple borders.
The whole thing is just so senseless, people suffering due to leaders actions.

If their latest missile attack goes as well as the last they'll all get shot down and cause pretty much bugger all damage. Bunch of cunts waving their dicks at the cunts in Jerusalem, it's all so fucking pointless.

Yeah but drones come in at miles/hour, ballistic missiles you’re talking miles/s.

I feel by now surely Ukraine should have been provided with similar systems to stop Russian missile strikes in the same precision as Israel with US assistance can? I know they do have some tech to intercept but generally Russian missiles still seem to hit many built up areas. This latest attack by Iran seems again to have done very little damage. I guess Ukraine is a much much larger area to protect though so missiles get through. I guess I’ve answered my own question.

I think they have some but are limited in where they can use them and don’t have full access to everything else that goes with them. It’s not just a case of giving them the thing that shoots missiles down.

Yeah and I think Israel's Iron Dome is one of the most advanced and comprehensive versions of that in the entire world. Plus as mentioned the are covered is more dense.
Despite a lot of Russian stuff being clown shoes I think they do have better missiles than Iran.

Israel has also been building its missile defence for decades and developed a lot of their own tech. There isn't a ready-made Iron Dome you can just roll out that will cover everything. And they have direct military assistance from the US, so not just relying on their own air defence.

So Iran launched a barrage of 180 missiles at Israel, what was this in direct response to? Has Israel been doing air strikes within Iran recently or is this a slap based on their current incursion into Lebanon?
Also, I know Israel is a smaller landmass but hasn't Russia been sending 50-150 drones/missiles into Ukraine almost daily for the last 18 months? At least Israel can strike into aggressors territories with US hardware, UKR are limited to using their own tech/supplies.

The ground attack into Lebanon is what triggered it, not that it takes much to set Iran off.

Israel been reaching out and making strikes in Lebanon which took out the leader of Hezbollah. While not directly affiliated with Hezbollah, Iran does provide weapons and shelter for them. Plus Israel started putting boots on the ground into the Israel/Lebanon border yesterday.

I think it's fair to call Hezbollah an Iranian proxy. So basically everything over the last week or two.

Iran is very directly affiliated with Hezbollah. It's in the Hezbollah manifesto and Iran gives hundreds of millions of dollars a year to fund them.

Hezbollah was officially formed by Lebanese Islamic clerics, but the military wing was literally created by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps and they are directly involved in everything they do.

I mean Iran's response today pretty much confirms that Hezbollah are a proxy militia of there's. See also the Ukraine conflict and how it forced Russias hand into admitting what everyone already knew, that Wagner were a state paramilitary force.

Also for those that don’t know; both Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Guard aren’t just military. Think military with a side order of mafia. They control numerous businesses and have fingers in any pie they want.

Is there any such thing as a grown up left to be the one in the room to point out where this spiral ends?
Turkey, Iran and Egypt are all now lining up to say ground forces in Lebanon is a red line too far. Even after all the killing in Gaza, the attacks on Yemen and Lebanon are a direct assault on neighbouring sovereign nations and once that starts happening treaties and allies start dominoing into position and we risk open warfare between nuclear powers.

Had a conversation with my mum about the Israel situation over the last year.
She used an analogy of the IRA campaign on mainland England and if the British response was to decimate the whole of Ireland; because they're either terrorists, or they're harbouring terrorists but either way it would be fair game.
Of course, you can't take that response as it would be barbaric and inhumane...but Israel gotta Israel and they don't view Palestinians as having any humanity anyway.
Fucked up all around
