Looks like we are right back to 3 teams kicking everyone else back to the shadow realm again.

Looks like Mercedes are adopting the old Red Bull position of chasing for scraps from the other two.
With Bottas in a formula of his very own below that.

Sainz looks like he's driving on bloody ice skates.

I really dislike the way Sky keep presenting the 'if Max finishes he wins stat'. Sure it's technically true, but in Bahrain and Melbourne he was behind when he retired and not looking likely to win. In reality we've had three weekends where Leclerc's pace 'deserved' the win and three where Max's pace has. Without reliability issues they'd have three wins a piece.

Was expecting RBR the ones to maybe have mechanical issues as the race went along not Mercedes.

Taken the lead of the championship. That turned around very quickly.

Interesting little race, that.
Great drives from Alonso, Ocon and my boy Tsunoda, too.

Top 5 George with another fine day's work there. Some brilliant defending against quicker cars.

Yeah he was so clinical into T1 against Max for about 5 laps in a row.

That's the first race I've seen start to finish this season, and it was pretty entertaining! Depressing that Hamilton was humped on lap one and yet worked his way back up to P4/5. As said above, just a three team race really. Chuffed for Russell; there was never much chance of him turning that lead into a win but it was lovely to see for a dozen laps or whatever.

The best part was when he knew one of the RB's was too far back and so didn't adopt the defensive line. So many times you see drivers compromise their run out of corners for no reason but he played a blinder. Lad is a world champion in waiting.

Best race of the season so far, maybe instead of Bernie's sprinklers idea they should have wind machines that randomly fire up to add to the spiciness of a race?

That was a good Barcelona race! The new regs have absolutely revived some of the dull venues, I'm so so pleased. Back down to earth with Monaco next time, but frankly, the rest of the calendar should be raceable.
Russell mega racecraft under pressure, so impressive. You'd imagine Russell vs Max (and Leclerc) will be the future of F1 and it's first blood to George there. Placed his car perfectly.
Perez was unsurprisingly screwed over by Red Bull there and a bit of a shame to see that so early in the season. Doubt Sainz would have been sacrificed by Ferrari at this stage.
Either Norris is a genius or Mclaren have to consider replacing Ricciardo. It's getting embarrassing. Norris started behind and finished 40+ seconds ahead. The gap isn't closing. EDIT - also Norris was supposedly pretty ill this weekend.
Second race in the row Hamilton's been hit wheel to wheel on lap one without taking any silly risks. Mega drive from a minute off the lead after 1 lap to within 40s before he had to lift and coast.
I know Solid disagreed before, but I really think there's a pattern emerging where Russell is the better qualifier but Hamilton is better over a typical tyre stint. It's bound to cause fireworks at some point soon because Hamilton will invariably be starting behind and then need to get by, and we've seen just how good George's defence is.
Hard to know after that if the Ferrari upgrades have allowed them to regain thee advantage, or whether it was just Charles having a 10/10 weekend. Leclerc seemed a bit quicker than Max but then Perez was comfortably faster than Sainz so it's pretty unclear. I guess the temperatures may also have created unusual circumstances.

I'm not disagreeing, I'm saying there hasn't really been a huge sample you can directly compare the two with just yet. Will be interesting seeing a few races where they line up 5-6, 4-5 together, have no incidents or safety cars and see where they are at then. Again though, Russell had the better race start, didn't get tangled up in the midfield scrapping and maximised his result. Better he's doing that than ending up on the 2nd driver scrapheap.

Apparently, Sainz had damage so perhaps not quite as bad a performance as it looked.

Predictions? Fully expect Leclerc to be the fastest out there, but stack it at some critical point as per form here and hand the win to Verstappen.

I'm expecting a lot from Alfa Romeo, this circuit more than others should really suit their short wheelbase car. Wonder if come the end of the season they'll regret having a rookie in the 2nd seat.

I'm rooting for Charles this season and I do believe he has it in him to beat Max/Red Bull but he has an atrocious record around street circuits. He's binned it in Monaco multiple times, I know he has binned it in Baku. Has he done it in Singapore? I wish they'd either put Monaco in the bin or change the format of the weekend or layout of the track. Qualifying is the only exciting thing of the weekend.

Monaco is just one long parade lap for the benefit of the rich watching from their yachts. It's iconic, but dull as fuck.
I don't know the history but Ecclestone must have had something to do with it!

I know it pretty much always ends up being a dull race, but Monaco still remains the only one other than Spa that I make sure I tune in too. It’s just a bit of event tv for me.

If the cars were actually smaller and able to overtake it would be good fun. Singapore (aren't Montreal and Albert Park classed as street circuits?)and Baku prove you can have a good race on a street circuit but right now F1 has outgrown Monaco.
Not sure when the last great race here was

Also I know it's been happening for a few seasons but I pay enough for my Sky package as it is, can they not just give us the hour of practice without interrupting with adverts?!
When Sky first got it from the BBC they never did that and now it seems adverts are creeping in more and more.

How do you lose it on that corner? Very poor driving from Perez.

Not that it did much I was told it keeps the prices down and sticks to ofcom guidelines. Absolute nonsense. Also was annoying watching "the staircase" on demand and being subject to adverts. It's something that subscription services will be doing and it's concerning. Having cake and eating it. They have me by the balls (which they know) as I just can't be arsed with the faff of F1TV over VPN and the lack of sky go.

They might as well just make purpose built indoor tracks for F1. Rain is clearly no longer welcome in the sport.

This is why it was infuriating seeing people act like one decision in Abu Dhabi was what we needed to address. Literally nothing has changed between last year and this.
