Can this weather fuckthefuckoff now. It had its chance in August and it blew it! Living in the sunny south east as I do we get the best weather of anyone (well almost) and I can't do feck all in it, too hot, too bothered and too old to be shaking my fist at a clear blue sky. How does anyone enjoy this heat ?

It's only at night that it bothers me. Otherwise I love it and is a price I am prepared to pay for disrupted sleep!

It's not even sunny or bright today, just grey, humid and sticky andI've got a headache and my room was 30 degrees at midnight last night.
The quicker this weather fucks off the better

Work are insisting that we have cameras on for all teams calls, so I've been hastily changing out of my vest (or just plain bare torso) multiple times a day. Tempted to just rock up to the next one in my vest.
If you can't accept me at my worst you don't deserve me at my vest.

Do it. Or possibly not, if you want to still have a job.

One of the graduates we hired turned up to a one-to-one meeting on Teams with the senior manager in their team topless after working out.
He didn't get fired or anything but he was given an informal chat about work expectations.
(We aren't even a fussy organisation, dress code wise, t-shirts and shorts are common even in the office)

At least you're not on fire. No no, that was the start of the week. It's floods now. We're expecting the locusts by the end of the month.

Is there a way to bottle this heat and release it in the winter? I don't mean using Solar powered batteries either I mean creating a really big fuck off storage heater?

We just need to wait 1.7×10106 years and the heat death of the universe means everything will be a consistent smooth temperature as entropy reaches maximum.

It's impossible to actually do any cardio in weather like this.
I went for a run at 9 am on Tuesday it was only about 19C, I only did 3k and gradually went into heat exhaustion throughout the day despite having a cool shower almost straight after.
Going for a 20 min walk feels like a workout!

Said it before, will say it again: I fucking HATE hot weather.
Between the start of June and the end of August, I try my level best to be glad for those who enjoy it - no mean feat when I'm sweating profusely while sitting still, and feeling even grumpier than usual as a result - because I know autumn will eventually arrive, and while I'm enjoying the cold weather and short days, plenty of others won't be.
I smear greasy sun cream on my pasty skin; I dose up on antihistamines before leaving the house; I grit my teeth and force a smile when people tell me how "glorious" the weather is; I try (and mostly fail) to sleep at night, bathed in perspiration, with the duvet rolled up and pushed against the wall; and I even feel kind of bad for swatting the bastard flies that always seem to head straight for wherever I happen to be, once they've made it indoors.
But we're over a week into September now, and it's still 30 degrees during the afternoon. Enough is enough!

I vaguely remember seeing something once about having this huge solid core that goes down through your house and underground. The idea being that the underground temperature is pretty constant and so it would radiate warmth in winter and coolth in summer.
I dunno if it's an actual thing though.

Muggy doing the gardening. There's sunshine, somewhere up there behind the mass of gray.

Cold >>> heat for one simple reason: when it's really fucking cold, you can bundle up more. Throw on a second sweater, double up on the blankets, sleep with more clothes on, whatever. When it's really fucking hot, well... there's only so many clothes you can take off is all I'll say

You live in Greece though right? So your scale is shifted somewhat towards the red end compared to most of us.

Yes, but relatively speaking the feeling ends up being about the same. I may be used to higher temperatures than someone living in, say, England, but the average temp over here is also higher usually... so I suffer in our heat similarly to you all in yours, I suppose (and you'd be surprised how low our lows can get sometimes, too)

Greece has loads of outside living and air con though so you can have a drink or food in a nice shady spot etc.
The UK is crap at outside living and all the concrete back yard beer gardens aren’t built for decent weather. Or shit weather either, come to that.

Tbf it is hard to build anything that's suited to British weather because it's insane. I'm always reminded of a story a colleague told me, how she hosted some US people from another part of the company she worked for.
They drove from West London out to Surrey somewhere and it went from bright sunny skies to pissing it down. The Americans were absolutely gobsmacked.
If you told me that it's 30 degrees today but next week it'd be down to 10 degrees and rain for all of next week, I'd say that sounds right.
We're a stupid little island hanging out off Europe and open to all different weather fronts.

My uncle went to England once, I forget exactly why. The thing he told us when he came back that's stayed with me the most was something like "I was there for three months, it didn't rain for three days"
