Yeah, you can tell he wanted to punch him. Probably not the most sensible thing to do but probably felt pretty good.

Francis, in my view, defended himself from an obviously violent punter. One that was leaving the premises. He put himself in an unnecessary position that was only ever gonna perpetuate things. If he's lucky he can argue the guy raised his arm first so he struck him. But it didn't need to happen. I don't have any sympathy for the punchee though.

They got him out the barriers and he slipped out at the same time, then positioned himself in the only way he could exit, at least that’s what it looks like on the video and that’s what will be queried by the police and the licensing board. They don’t normally care whether they deserved it or not

Francis lost control. He had no need to do that and if he's not arrested, he can consider himself lucky. That's not to say that a large part of me doesn't think the bloke deserved it, he did. But that's not how the law works. He knew he could take him without throwing a punch but did it anyway. Irresponsible really. Was a great shot though

To my expert eye, he walked towards him with arms up after carrying on like a cunt for a few minutes and, sadly for him, chose the most hilarious person possible to advance towards. He absolutely would have started swinging if it was the short Asian kid the ginger ninja was carrying on with but unfortunately it was someone who could banish him to the shadow realm.

I mean, he was probably gonna swing on Francis but Francis was quicker with the hands. You don't put your hands up unprovoked like that for no reason

I'm pretty anti any kind of street violence and usually avoid the videos BUT that was kind of satisfying.
Nap time. Shame he didn't put gingerbeard to sleep as well.

I'm also amused by how threatening and aggressive Gingerbeard man was right up until the KO.
He suddenly switches to victim. "Why has this happened to my innocent friend, oh the injustice!"
It's a glorious transition. The sudden realisation that he's not able to act with complete impunity.

Yep, people like that think they can act like this because they think nothing will happen. Did the punch then to happen? Probably not but I bet that guy will be a bit more careful next time he decides to create a scene.
The second you touch someone now it's assult and so he had assaulted several people before being knocked out.

My first adult funeral was a former school chum who loved a pint and a fight. Every saturday he would get into some shit. Loved it.
One time he similarly chanced upon someone trained who sparked him out in one punch and he hit his head on the edge of the kerb which killed him.
Sad times indeed but, y'know, fuck around and find out and all that.

I dont think so, certainly not with manslaughter or anything like that.
Basically, my guy had come on to someones girlfriend and started getting arsey when the girl and then the other guy told him to fuck off. He threw the first punch, missed and the other guy walloped him.
Coroners report said that because he had done a decent dose of ecstacy, his brain had swelled which increased the damage when he hit the kerb significantly. So, yeah, dunno if he ended up with a lower charge but hes definitely going to have to live with that.
It is a weird one. I did get on with the guy pretty well at school, we hung out a lot, but we drifted apart as he became a bigger and bigger prick. I wont say he deserved it but he had become a wanker who chose to make peoples lives miserable and, law of averages, he was going to come up against a bigger fish sooner or later so it was hard to lose much sleep over it.
I know that makes me sound like a bit of a psychopath.

Nah, I get that feeling having similar friends. None luckily have died and I don't seem them other than updates on Facebook nowadays.
Used to get in a lot of fights when I was younger with squaddies. Just grew out of it and looked back on how pointless and stupid it all was.

Seem to have missed it, but no action against Julius Francis from the Police.
They spoke to him, but that's all.

He’s had his security license suspended pending investigation, plus the arrest and questioning, which is what I predicted at the time

Presumably, they have to do that. I imagine that as the law have concluded there's nothing to it and his boss and all his colleagues support him (by all accounts, Box Park are going to continue to pay him), he'll be fine.
