Yeah, multiplying was a big factor in my first win, I had a Joker that gave +1xMult for each uncommon Joker. Then I got one that had mult for a flush specifically, which is what I'd built the deck around. Still had to get lucky a few times to get to the 8th Ante though.

Probably goes without saying but it’s easy to forget, make sure you arrange your jokers and hand cards so multipliers trigger last. Turning a +10 into what effectively is a +100 is the key to endgame shenanigans.

If you're comfortably getting through a round in a single turn, then it's pretty much always worth getting the hieroglyph voucher if it comes up. I avoided it at first due to the -1 hand seeming like too much of a downside, but going back down to a lower ante ends up being far more positively impactful. Gives you some much needed breathing room to prepare for ante 8.

I've had that Voucher pop a few times and basically ignored it. I didn't really get the benefit, other than it brings the final level forward one Ante? If you just wanna cross the finish line, that makes sense, but from the perspective of Endless Mode, you still have to tackle Ante 8 after 7 presumably?

It gives you (barring bad boss blinds) a free run to further tune your engine. Well worth doing if you have a working engine that only just scrapes through each ante.

I am so very far down the addiction spiral with this now. Found myself firing up the Steam Deck on a stultifying work call today. I have no regrets.

Levelled up flush with a few Jupiter cards and built the smeared joker around spades and clubs, got to ante 7 to finish my first ever run. Boss says "Fuck you bitch". All spades and clubs are dead.
Was tempting to find out how much pressure is needed to snap a steam deck in half.

I bought it after beating the ante thinking I’d have it for the next round You do. Planet cards upgrade your hand levels for the entire run. I see it now — I’m cooking on gas!

I found Yorrick today. Absolutely creamed the late game once he was up and running.

Gah, this game seems committed to never giving me the jokers I want. There's just far too many cards in the pool. Had a run where I got the Observatory voucher (planet cards in the consumable area give 1.5x multi for their specified hand). Then on another run I got a joker that creates a negative copy of a random card in the consumable area every round. I'm salivating at the thought of getting both of those in the same run, but I haven't seen either of them in 10 runs now... I'm going to start playing with the nebula deck just to increase my chances of seeing that damn voucher. /edit Ah, it's a legendary joker, so not too surprising I haven't seen it again

It's an incredibly trying game imo, you have way more duff starts than in most games like this which can get a bit tiring quickly.

Has anyone got beyond the 10million blind? Think it's Boss Blind in Ante 10.
I can fairly consistently get to Ante 10 now, but jacking my deck beyond that is proving difficult.

I've gotten to Ante 11 once on one of the higher Stakes. I was pretty consistently making 4m a hand at that point, but the small blind for 11 was something stupid like 25m. I wasn't quite broken enough for that lol.

Yeah, ante 11 broke me. I think the ante 10 boss was the first one that I wasn't steamrolling through in one hand.
/edit Just found the stats page in settings and looks like I've made it to 12 actually. I must've been in the zone!

I think I'm going to lower the difficulty once I've unlocked the last deck. It's so rough when you can never really get a good start.

Yeah, I'm working my way up through the difficulties just to unlock all of the decks, but seriously doubt I'll be crazy enough to try to go for the clear max difficulty on every deck achievement. Just once will be enough for me and I'll go back down to the bottom difficulty.
Small blinds not giving any reward is some absolute bullshit when you're too broke to even get the interest payment.

Just made it to ante 12 again. 300,000,000 small blind is fucking ludicrous. My best hand was 19,448,772.
If you get blueprint joker and anything that lets you grow your multi x then you're pretty much golden. (well, until you reach ante 12 of course)

I had one run where I had two stencils and a blueprint to make a third one. It was pretty funny.
But I don't really care that much about Endless Mode, it feels like you're not going to do well in that unless you luck into getting all the best cards.

I was having a good time with obelisk but then got caught in the trap where my most played hand became many different types of hands so it kept resetting. It'd be nice if that card told you what your most played hand was at least.

I love Endless mode. I prepare for that from the get go rather than finishing Ante 8.
I figure with certain Joker unlocks and other bits that Ante 12 and above will become more achievable. Presumably they are hinted at in the compendium because they _are_ possible. Haha.

Picked this up the other day. It is a bit good. Feels the closest rogue-like card game to give that Slay the Spire feels, with Rogue Book and Cobalt Core being the closest previously, but both just missing out on that greatness.
Not sure how many attempts I've had, but had most success with a straights deck. I had the shortcuts joker, which lets you skip ranks to create a straight (so you can make it with a 7, 9, J, K, A for example). Also had a joker that added a growing number of chips with each straight played, which was great. Think I got to ante 6, but lost when I ran into a boss that only would allow a hand type to score once.

Yeah, that boss has ruined a few of my runs. The one that lets you only play a single hand is probably my number one fail. Feels like you're guaranteed to run into the bastard if you start building around the joker that gives mult x if you've played a hand more than once in a round.
I'm absolutely terrible at reading the boss blinds early on. I'll just plough through an ante and have an "oh shit" moment when I get to the boss, that probably could've easily been avoided.

Are there any decks that actually change the starting composition of your deck or are they all your standard 52 cards?
One thing I've found so far is that options for manipulating you're deck seem quite limited. Obviously, there are cards for changing the suit of 2 or 3 cards, or the tarot that lets you remove a couple of cards, but it doesn't seem like you can reliably slim down your deck or really stack a group of particular values. After adding and removing some cards, the slimmest deck I've had I think was still 50 cards. I've not played around much with spectral cards though, so maybe those are more about deck manipulation.

There's the checkered deck which changes the deck to hearts and spades only (still 52 cards), which is my go-to for higher difficulties as it makes flush builds easy straight away. There's also one that gets rid of all face cards.

I was super excited to use the one that removes Face cards, mainly because it has 12 less cards so should be easier to hit your preferred cards, and then proceeded to find it pretty hard to succeed with. Too used to getting those +10 chips from face cards! Think I ended up with Fibonacci Joker carrying me through a lot of it.

Broader question for you Balarinas: where do you stand on the +Chips Jokers? Do you always bin them off in favour of +Mult and xMult Jokers like I do? I figured that multiplying is always better than addition, and then basically pump the +Chip via Planet cards.

As I mentioned, my best run was with a joker that increased the number of chips it added with each straight played. I'm sure a lot of my success came from that card.
But, it definitely became less good by the time I got to ante 6. At that point, I should have ditched it when a good multiplier came up (not sure if I did see anything suitable though).
