HHH did say a couple of years back that he thought instead of one six hour monster show that his vision was to make it more like a european music festival where it lasts days with nonstop events the whole time. He’s certainly managed that.

The thing is in a festival you can wander off and do other things. You go to Wrestlemania and you’re stuck in a (more often than not, swelteringly hot) stadium for the duration. The crowd really starts dropping off in hour three.

I’m guessing they dropped the cursed Andre the Giant Battle Royal - ie. The one where not a single winner ever managed to progress their career in any way. It's part of 'Wrestlemania Smackdown' now. Bobby won it and has issued an open challenge for night 2 after Brays injury. All good matches(Mcafee vs Miz was a quick throw away). Though too many kick outs in the main event :/ I prefer 2 nights over 6 hrs and 14+ matches or 4hrs with a bunch of 5 minute matches. But would prefer them to do smaller venues again like MSG and so on. Crowd would be much hotter and next years is in an open stadium which I've never been a fan of (ruined Stings/HHH/Brays and other entrances over the years). The Bloodline story needs to start ending IMO and it needs Roman to lose tonight to start the downfall and breakup of the group. I normally ignore fan booking but Jey vs Roman at Summerslam would make sense. |

Thought night one was fucking great with Charlotte Rhea being the best match. Those ladies work incredibly snug and there was some wince inducing spots.
Nothing comes close to WWE when it comes to pure spectacle and Mania exemplifies this warts and all (the Prime bottle!)

On Talk is Jericho ages ago Charlotte talked about having popped one of her breast implants doing a moonsault.
It looks so sick when Rhea hits a german suplex but the victim lands on their face rather than back of their shoulders.
I know they have big screens but I always assume at least half the people at a stadium show can’t see the actual people in the ring.
That said… Rusev’s entrance at WM31 really looked something.

Wouldn’t have thought I’d ever see Sheamus, who had X-PAC heat the last time I watched regularly, getting some of the biggest pops of the weekend. LA just loves three guys beating the shit out of each other’s chests.

So they made Cody look the chump and I'm guessing Roman will now fues with Jey because WWE have pushed themselves into a corner with nobody left to challenge Roman. The programme with Cody has been pretty meh overall and way too rushed.

Night 1 was great, Night 2 was poor.

I enjoyed the triple threat match and the hot finish to Asuka v Bel Air. Although I felt there’s a real gulf in terms of work rate between the two.
The Hell in a Cell match was fine but it’s the overdue go home match to a feud everyone already stopped caring about. Main event was overbooked but decent.
Everything else I could have lived without - especially the intrusive cross-promotional ads for hard lemonade and Russell Crowe films... I know it’s probably a lot of money for very little work, but I still don’t like to see Miz constantly humiliated like that. You’d think after the KFC match he’d paid all his dues for life.
I noticed the Mount Rushmore of front row, facing hard camera fans is missing long haired guy and his mum now. Just Green T-shirt and lederhosen guy left. Anyone know what happened to them? Did WWE wish them well in future endeavours?

I think this version of Reigns is the best version of Reigns and I don’t mind him being the final boss of wrestling and beating everyone like he has been. The issue is there isn’t anyone left who looks like they could even be put in a plausible place to beat him now.
If Vince was in charge and they could get Dwayne to sign up to it I think might be a long tease to their Mania match but that sometime in the summer Roman would lose to the MITB winner thanks to the Rock and then you’d have them main event one night at Mania and the titles free to move around the guys on the next tier down (Drew, Lashley etc)
I’d love if Miz was allowed to do something like his Intercontinental Championship World Tour gimmick again. It seems crazy to say it considering where he was a decade ago but he deserves more.
