A wrestling poster that actually looks good imo.
As for who Cody will face? Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being someone like Solo.

So let me get this right. In a programme where people are attacked backstage all the time to build stories, we're supposed to now throw that out of the window and be outraged that it's happened for real this time? What's more the person who's still on their payroll(?) is the one that came worse off in what can only be described as a minor scuffle at best. Just like I said, a bunch of petty, 4th wall breaking, wink, wink, nudge, nudge bullshit a few thousand gatekeepers who live on the Internet would actually care about. It's Jeremy Kyle level stuff. Are we pretending kayfabe still exists?

WWE seemed to manage to project a bunch of coherent and well thought out plotlines this weekend just gone without having to rely on a bunch of meta bullshit. But I suppose that's the difference between people who have talent for these things and people who don't.

Rewatched the Hollywood Backlot Brawl tonight following the news about OJ dying. Vince was truly a man to who pop culture was an alien concept, wasn’t he?
Its like he saw and heard all these things from the outside world but he didn’t understand any of them.

Tony definitely has something, because there’s a complete lack of self awareness in this tweet

Yeah. I'm pretty sure he loves all the negativity he gets when he tweets cause no way can he be serious about this.

I find it so hard to tell when he’s working us and when he’s being a massively tribal mark

Anyway I don't want to piss people off on here by constantly shitting on AEW.

I can’t actually think of a moment in his career when it would’ve made sense to do it but, like Regal, it feels mad that Dustin has never been a world champ.
Maybe as a MITB winner sometime between Edge retiring and tagging with Cody. But then Punk, Sheamus, Bryan, Del Rio and Cena were all on top and by the end of that period the Authority had begun.

I can't either because if he wasn't himself as Dustin, then it's been Goldust, Black Reign, Seven etc, and they either sucked, or had a ceiling. Around the early 90s would have been his best chance, but then in WCW you just had got Hogan, Sting, Savage, Flair, Vader, Sid etc

For Regal the moment would’ve been when he was King of the Ring toward the end of his career. Which I think was the plan but he got injured or something.

He cleared this up a while back, that he was pulled up for a drug test, that had a small amount of something. He wanted to clear his name, but WWE had already done the deed, and they were just off the back of Benoit, so didn't want to be pulled into anything else.

Evil King Regal vs Cena would’ve made so much sense in that era too

For both Regal and Dustin, it might have helped their cause if they’d both been clean through their careers. Regal’s Wellness policy suspension came at a bad time and Dustin lost what most wrestler’s would call their best years because he was in and out of wrestling companies, before returning and being the best he’d ever been…
Also Regal lost any chance of being champ when we all saw his William on live tv. Which reminds me… I would have liked Cena’s Wrestlemania run in so much more if he’d followed up on his Oscar appearance and done it in the nuddy. He could have used the envelope as a foreign object.
I know it’s the only place he has hair, but the dude needs to shave his head. He’s basically combing over at this point.

If Vince was still around we’d 1000% have had a naked promo from someone involving Cena after the Oscars

Jack Perry got a huge reaction from the crowd last night at NJPW's show in Chicago, maybe things will work out for him after all if AEW strike while the iron's hot.

Interesting to see them freshening up the Bloodline, and also AJ vs Cody should be good at Backlash, as I’m almost certain he beats LA next week.

His promo game was very poor but got a lot better when he went heel against Hook.
And I've always thought he's pretty good in the ring, just missing that something extra to heat up the crowd, he now has that something extra.
I think Jack Perry has real potential to be a star. To propel him there he needs 3 things:
- AEW to strike while the irons hot and put him on TV now. - A good storyline that delivers with every Act and doesn't meander in to the abyss after a good start. - Some banger wrestling matches.
AEW will probably only manage the last point, but he's only 26 so he can have a few more false dawns before his potential is wasted completely.

I know everyone hates the idea but since Luke Perry was so close with David Arquette and Jack and David wrestle in Arquette’s comeback documentary I think they should bring Arquette into AEW as part of an angle with Perry.

He definitely has that edge he was missing and has bulked up a bit. Think if they play it right he could become a modern day raven type character.

Personally I think he hit his ceiling as Jurassic Express, much like The Usos. But I’m here to be proved wrong. We went to Wales Comic Con a few years back, and the story was Jungle Boy forgot his passport and couldn’t make it. Luchasaurus made it though. Maybe he was always a dick, because those poor Welsh kids wanted a photograph.

Eh, that's clearly absolute wrestle twitter bollox - half my time on YouTube is spent watching CCTV videos of fails/weird shit/fights etc. "Forbidden" is a very odd term to use too. I'd be pretty surprised if AEW didn't do their due legal diligence before airing that clip. Perhaps it was their CCTV so they own the footage.
Edit - fuck me I've just looked at that guy's timeline, it's like 13 year old tribal wwe fanboy shit and totally cringey. Really not sure I'd be quoting "Jay Angles" as an actual *source* for anything and even a cursory glance at his profile gives a sense of his intention in that post.
"If I was WWE I would be very careful when it comes to free agent Matt Hardy. Said for a while AEW will want a mole. No accident Spears & Good bros are in #wwenxt"
It's amazing to rag on Meltzer (who is far from consistent, granted) yet also propagate a random unsourced quote from a total random frothing fanboy.
