I’ve managed to kill 90 minutes by spending it doing a 100 piece children’s jigsaw that the grandparents and our 7 year old couldn’t do. Also cooked the Christmas lunch at the same time.
All now completed, I was more proud of finishing the jigsaw.

Wow a piece almost every minute. Can you smell burning because your hands must be on fire! 😅

Merry Christmas!
After the hassle of school in the morning, it turned out pretty good. Kids happy with presents. Christmas dinner turned out ok despite (a) me cooking it, and (b) the oven picking today to start BSODing. Good video chats with the family back in the UK.

This is the first time I’ve stopped long enough to look at a phone since 7am - fantastic day but full-on. Turkey dinner for 5 (one veggie, one coeliac) was a great success ifidosaysomyself. We were so stuffed we didn’t have pudding (brownies and ice cream) until 2 hours later, and now that we’ve cleared the last of the tree presents, everyone’s broken off to do their own thing for a bit.
Merry Christmas one and all, the world may be a bit of a state but this tiny corner of it is alright.

Now I'm struggling to set up a 3D printer she wanted so she could print D&D stuff for the myriad games she's playing simultaneously. I had this for the girls birthday and it is an absolute knacker ache starting from zero. They really live up to the printer part. After you’ve set it up, make an account on thingiverse and thangs and you’re pretty much good to go.

Merry Christmas all! Introducing The Snowman to my boy. He's loving it and I think there's some dust in the room.

Merry Christmas all! Introducing The Snowman to my boy. He's loving it and I think there's some dust in the room. Nice. I remember doing that for our boys many moons ago - on VHS! Still, they may be 17 and 20 but we've all just enjoyed a post-dinner rewatch of Paddington. Napoleon Dynamite got the vote for the late film.

A belated Merry Christmas to everyone.
Still feeling knackered which is incredible considering I barely lifted a finger, my role was keeping the 5 year old entertained which meant basically opening all his presents with him and playing with them.
Result.

Entertaining a child can be exhausting. I've been up since 4 with my 4 year old and almost 2 year old keeping them entertained.
I am spent

We've had 2 successful looking prints now, the test one we did together and one she wanted that she did herself. But learning alot about the process. Those sites looks really useful! Thanks for the pointers ☺️

Merry Christmas all. My parents came over yesterday morning to watch kids open presents and then back to my brother's for their dinner. We then went over to BiL for dinner so our kids and their kids get to hang out together.
Ive been constructing lights and other assorted stuff the kids got for their newly decorated rooms.
Absolutely love the fact that my eldest said he wants to keep the generic 21" monitor that he plays Xbox on and that we sell the 43" 120hz vrr qled 4k TV we just bought him to replace both his shitty old TV and monitor combo. Yep that went down well. Kids eh.

10am - Dog Walk after watching the eldest do the Boxing Day swim at the local beach. Brrrr 11am - cuppa at a beach side cafe 12 noon - back for leftovers, cheeses and a beer or two. Snooze after. Now just off to the local for a quick pint. Board games tonight

Yep that went down well. Kids eh. I did something very similar when I was a kid. Tbf it was when flat screen TVs started to be a thing and the response time was so slow you could see the ghosting clear as day. It was some cheap TV that Santa must have found on the shelf at Asda so that went and I carried on playing on a 16" CRT

IIRC the breaking point when we switched from our old TV to our current flatscreen was when I couldn't for the life of me read the UI text on the original Xenoblade (I was already bespectacled by that point, but was essentially fine aside from that)... Probably not the only reason, but hey Sturdy little thing, that flatscreen! (aaand now I've jinxed it haven't I)

One of the cats had a fit early hours of the morning and of course the vets are closed today. She seems ok today but still very worrying. Now I feel bad for moaning about them waking me up early yesterday
