Thank you (all for the likes/welcome)!
I hear Whos all the time, joys of being a parent.
I can also see this 'Not being able to post till PT evening/dead of night UK' thing is now going to be more of an issue than I thought.
I'm going to up the stakes from Timmie's to A&W (which I don't think exist in the UK yet?) who have launched this thing recently, the Ruffles Teenburger. Ruffles is basically a ridged crisp, with different flavours.
I mean, I love a good crisp sarnie, but this is a bit... werid.
You tried this epicurian delight, elstoof?

I was in Portishead a couple weekends ago at a coffee place and they had some kind of sticky cardamom spiced swirl thing… since then everything has been garbage. In life and otherwise. Sour times?

I have found that the solution is to reply to every thread while people are asleep, so that you can get your username as the last post on every thread in the Recent section. It's the modern day equivalent of trying to get every place on the arcade machine's high scores table.

Genius! That's it then, off to scour every single thread!

I'm getting too old to be a proper rival, I'll end up falling asleep halfway through.

I’ve not tried the Ruffles burger, not sure I could ask for a teenburger with a straight face either. I do like their Nashville chicken burger though, better than any other fast food chicken burger here. If you’re on PT, are you in BC also?

I have not had a teenburger, but totally with you on the Nashville chicken, although we have a few local Mom and Pops that are our go tos.
Yep, I'm in Greater Victoria, so a short trip over the strait from you!

Yep, we feel incredibly lucky to be here! BC is just amazing in general, still feels unreal to look out onto mountain ranges. The only downer is the uptick in forest fires.

Yeah it still blows my mind when I look north and see Grouse, Cypress etc from anywhere in the city, the scale is incredible. I keep taking pictures to show people but they never come close to doing it justice. The ferries over to the island are amazing for views, did the gran fondo last month as well which was great for seeing the sights up to Whistler

Oh wow, the Gran Fondor! Major respect for that, especially the second half and that climb towards Whistler, but the views are something else (as long as it's not foggy ).
The ferries are great, especially the number of handbrake turns they basically do around the outer islands to get to Schwartz Bay from Tsawwassen. Saying that, the fleet's getting old and they desperately need the new stock coming soon, very glad I don't have to commute to the mainland.
Yeah, photos never come out how it looks. On clear days, you can see Mount Baker on the way home from picking up the boy from school, and even at 180 miles away, it looks huge. Pinch myself regularly, it's a far cry from growing up in Dudley.

Vancouver, the islands and the surrounding area were amazing. Jealous.
Though when I visited it was gorgeous weather, and everyone who lived there kept telling me it rained all the time. Lying gits.

The mental thing is that I'm not allowed back in the UK if I leave for 6 months.
When you can be outside the UK for more than 6 months There are some absences of more than 6 months in a 12-month period that will not count as a break in your continuous residence, which are:
one period of up to 12 months for an important reason - for example, childbirth, serious illness, study, vocational training, an overseas work posting or because of coronavirus (COVID-19) compulsory military service of any length time you spent abroad as a Crown servant, or as the family member of a Crown servant time you spent abroad in the armed forces, or as the family member of someone in the armed forces working in the UK marine area

I’ve not tried the Ruffles burger, not sure I could ask for a teenburger with a straight face either. That product name was definitely not really thought through well. I recently got pelters from my missus and called out for behaving like a child when she asked for a 'glazed ring' at a local doughnut place .

Tim’s does a donut they call a “filled ring”, see what the missus thinks

The mental thing is that I'm not allowed back in the UK if I leave for 6 months. Yeah, despite having a British husband and children, 15 years living and paying more tax than most, we have 2 years until my wife’s leave to remain is revoked and we can essentially never live in the UK again, without jumping through visa hoops at least

Can only hope it's one of these things that this Government will slowly change. Absolutely mad.

It's mental. Have a family friend with a Malaysian wife and two teenage kids and they can't get back for whatever shitty reason. I think it's kind of past the marriage of convenience and green card bs, but government policy appears to disagree.
Load of bollocks.
