The PCGamer and RPS reviews are putting me off. Well other than being a massive 40K nerd but absolutely loathing Space Marines already was.

After watching a few streams last night, don't expect anything above what we got with SM1. As I flicked across Twitch, I noticed a few streamers only a few hours in were mentioning how repetitive it was. I think it must have taken a bit of the shine off the hype Focus were expecting.
And it really does depend on how smitten you are with the male power fantasy of genetically enhanced super fash shouting "die, filthy xenos" and calling each other brother every 30 seconds.
The campaign seems mercifully short at 6-8 hours. I think the main pull will be co-op for a bit - at least until everyone gets sick of running the same missions over and over and over.
Anyway, I've bought the "proper wanker" edition and will give it a bit of a go tonight. Maybe I'll completely change my mind and absolutely love it? Stranger things have happened!

Anyway, looks pretty swish on quality mode.
Not fully sold on the combat yet, but it’s very early. It’s all good and well throwing in parry mechanisms and unblockable attacks etc, but trying to manage those whilst being swarmed by 100 hormogaunts is a bit fucking chaotic.
Also, the little shooty Tyranids are almost invisible against some of these backdrops.

The crappy slim-ass bolt rifle sucks though. Bring back the bolter.

I appreciate the shoutout but to be fair, there are two big chapters with Tyranid history you would probably pick first. It had to be one of those for marketing alone. I’m no war hammer fan but ultra marines always seemed the dullest of the factions (if that’s what they are). I was a space wolves fan myself as a kid.

I’ve been notified by CDKeys that the gold version is now available but the standard (36 quid) isn’t yet. I wonder if I’ve missed the boat on it. Think I will wait for a sale if the alternative is 50 quid plus tbh.

The Emporer is hammering my CPU with this game (80°c) even when ulitisation is pretty average. I am wondering if EAC is causing the issue or it's just constantly boosting the clock.

It shouldn’t annoy me but it really does that others can play this 4-5 days earlier than me because they either have loads of spare cash or they just aren’t as stubborn and don’t mind helping publishers continue this shit trend.

I went to buy it yesterday only to see it was out on 'general release' on Monday. What a fucking stupid move. At least do the idiots release midweek so everyone can play it at the weekend. Presumably they've 4D chess'd this to maximise dollar.

I think it's the cheek that it's £85 for the privilege, alongside getting some cosmetic items. People can do what they want with their money, hence why they do this. But I found it at Game Collection for £38 less.. and it's here tomorrow.
