Playing on PS5 otherwise would be happy to co-op.
Made more of a dent tonight, still in my opening world but having a grand old time exploring. Killed another boss, and discovered another who handed me my arse. Will come back to that fucko after some more exploration.

Finished this last night, not bad at all. I think it delivers on a lot of the promise of the first game and is a lot better playing solo than that game was, at least once I turned down to Survivor difficulty. I've seen some stuff going around about the last boss but it's not that bad once you get the timings down and it's a lot clearer than the previous boss so I actually had less trouble with it. It's certainly not a patch on the bastard last boss of Remnant 1, though I did have a lot of trouble with running out of ammo.
I suspect with a group I'd have been able to easily handle Veteran but when you're on your own it's just too difficult to get away from enemies once they're on you and the extra damage they do and take made it all a bit too much. Once I got hold of a rapid fire weapon things became a lot smoother too - again, the single shot repeater you get as Gunslinger does great damage etc but when stuff is on you I found the damage output a little too low for the amount of reloading.

Failing that let me know as my evenings aren't too bad this week. I'm still on my opening world as well getting increasingly lost and confused. I don't know if I'm where I should be, or if this is side quest stuff, or what, quite frankly, is going on. I've done somethign witha clock and now I'm doing something for a council of three elders but I genueinl.y don't know if there's more to do with this clock or if I should be doing this thing or what.
I like it a lot thought. It's a big step up from the first, which was quite linear by comparison. I'm actually enjoying being confused.

I am in some jungle area now, done a few bosses and a world boss. I'm still rocking the same weapons, albeit upgraded here and there. I feel like I'm missing some obvious discovery of a new weapon etc. Or is there not? I mean I found the smg at the start, but since then nothing at all besides some rings.

I've found no weapons, armour or anything yet. Just some rings. I could buy weapons from the base but don't see the point as mine work well enough.

The weapons you buy from the guy at the shooting range are the other classes' starter guns. You can get others during the game in secret areas, by completing quests (including some of the puzzle rooms), and by beating bosses - take them back to the person you bought the first weapon mod from and she can make weapons from the materials they give you.

I got a few from going through the non-essential areas in each world - like in the forest zone there's one where you're in a temple with a rotating decoration that casts shadows and you solve multiple puzzles and get a bow at the end. The way you kill certain bosses can make a difference too - there's one with a guardian buddy that it endlessly revives but if you kill it while it's in that revival process you get a bonus thing that makes a weapon.
There's actually a surprising amount of stuff to find out there, they really packed a lot in, but at least in Survivor difficulty it's not too bad if you miss it.

I'll likely be around one evening this week. I know I can see you in the Diablo clan list but not sure if ever added each other to PSN friends, will check later on. Definitely want to experience the co-op, sounds like we're in different places so be good to have a gander (and each place has a couple of instances anyway where storylines are different).

As mentioned before they're usually found by exploring the environment or puzzles. Good thing to know is that if you do find a puzzle the solution to solve it is usually in the same area too. In the Bloodborne area, there's a safe in the asylum that you can learn the code from within it. There's a sword you can find in the castle after noticing a secret passage behind a painting. Just be diligent and throughly explore each area, it should lead you to something. Also, killing bosses can also drop unique items that you can go back to the hub world with and craft boss weapons.

I beat this yesterday, Veteran difficulty. Overall fairly uneven, the end boss is the best one in the game by a fucking mile though. Overall enjoyable, it's let down by the random level generation just like the last game that makes everywhere feel the same. And the bosses are across the board the worst I've ever seen aside from one or two.

Completed my first world (Yaesha) which was cool, all pan and fauns lore then got teleported to the second world which is a Labyrinth. Whatever algorithm chooses the worlds surely had something in about Pan's Labyrinth! Which is also one my my all time favourite movies as it happens.

I seem to have completed two quests, one of which I wasn't even aware of involving a feast, which was a bit nuts. The other one was the Council, which was quite cool but I have to confess I needed to look that up. It's a bit too obtuse at times.
Seem to have made it to a castle now but it's power level is one above mine.

Took me a couple of goes on Survivor, including one where I just couldn’t finish off the final enemy in time before starving. Were you playing solo? I started in Veteran but it became clear to me that enemy HP and damage was too high to handle without frustration.

It's funny, The Feast was one of the first side dungeons I had and it was complete tonal whiplash to go from an otherwise normal boring protaganist to ripping and devouring human bodies for regenerating health to a MCU esque delivery of "Whew! Glad THAT'S over!" when it was cleared

The issue for me was just managing the crowd to reach the point where the zombies you could eat for HP would spawn since it was a death sentence trying to eat the food on the table. Once the bigger enemies spawned, as long as most of the smaller ones were dead it was mostly ok. I got the event again on adventure mode with a proper build and breezed through. Just a fucker early on I think.

Looking for the last quest progression item I need to get in N'Erud and cannot find the last dungeon it's supposed to be in. To the point I think the game is fucking with me and it might not be in my instance (even though it should be?). I have one place left to clear but according to the wikia and other walkthroughs it isn't dropped here...oh well, will see if it does when I jump back on tomorrow.
I'm having a blast with this game, about 12 hours in and still not cleared the first world (am close though). I'm just enjoying te fuck out of exploration and finding secrets. Laughed when I saw the game is supposed to only take 18-20 hours...I'll triple that at this rate!

If it's the glowy ball things, 3 are in side areas iirc and one is in the overworld.

Question on relics - found a couple of new relic hearts, but so far they do very different things and don't return health. I'm loathe to use something different to the starting dragon heart at the moment because I need the health refills - what are the rest of you using?
I'm tight and don't want to spend money on healing items, so have upgraded my dragon heart instead of using one of the new ones I've got. I think there are a couple of similar health ones with tweaks to what they do, but the shields and stamina ones just seem like a bad idea to me at this point.

Supposed to be in a dungeon I cannot find on my map and I have no red areas left to explore...so it must be in the last one I've yet to clear (but isn't supposed to be here)... I thought it might have been in the dungeon where I encountered the flooded room (I died in there and on the return couldn't unflood it again, turnsa out it is a known bug which means it now won't unflood so I can get the item I missed in there). I also had a boss kill me and then on return wouldn't respawn but they don't drop what I need anyway...annoying I've had two bugs in two different dungeons though.

It might be in one you already did then, they are usually in those big sarcophagus things and you might have just forgotten to go grab it because they don't open up until you get close.

I think the different relics are for different builds, for example I have one which increases mod regen. That combined with a ring that gives me health when using mods and another ring that boosts health regen means i actually heal better than the default starter heart. Particularly with a weapon that has multiple stacks of its mod which means i can stack heal over time effects.

Your Dragon Heart upgrades apply to all relics. So if you have 4 dragon hearts you also have 4 of any other relic.
Many of them are healing ones but with different conditions, rare to find ones that don't heal at all.

The final boss of N'Erud took a fair few attempts but got there in the end. Quite enjoyed that, kept me on my toes.
Labyrinth is something else, reminds me of some of the level design in Control (another game I loved) and I'm having a great time exploring. Found another relic heart, so need to start making decisions on build, as so far just been quite vanilla with what I'm focusing on.
