why are there always cowboys in space? might as well have space vikings It looked a bit boring until they got to the other locations, probably because it looked a bit more like Fallout
I don't think I'm going to be sold on Starfield until it's out and people are playing it. I think camera work and cuts are doing a lot to make this look less like a standard janky Bethesda game

Probably the better of the showcases this year. Lots of interesting titles, decent amount of first party content.
My main criticism if I had one is just that the Fable and Hellblade footage still didn't really tell us much. I've no doubt the "in-game" footage shown will absolutely be what those games will release and look like given the talent involved, but they may as well have been CG for all they *actually* showed us gameplay wise.
This Starfield direct is insanely exhaustive, I'll never even scratch the surface because I'm old and tired and children have sucked the soul from my body.
On a sidenote this feed is either badly framepaced or the game is, or my *particular* feed is.

See, I’m the opposite. I’m not a Fallout fan, so the less western or post-apocalyptic it looks, the better. Space westerns aren’t inherently bad, but it’s just become such a common trope. Post-apoc can go to hell though. |

I get the complaint with Hellblade, but I think it’s okay with Fable because it shows that the most important part, the humor, is still a focus. They could’ve gone generic RPG, but they’re keeping the distinctly British sense of humor the series is known for. |

I’d say this show was probably on par with SGF. I counted 4 games here that I’m interested in - Fable, South of Midnight, StarWars and Starfield - 2 of which were already known, and only Starfield has actually shown anything of the game. Sony’s had the most overall titles that interested me.
