Spirit Tracks was amazing, art and music was beautiful. Final fight was so hard though.

PSP and 3DS for me. One for the wow GTA in my hands factor and the other for wow the 3D without glasses factor. I wish there was another handheld like 3DS. Shame the idea has died.

Coincidentally I dug out my Vita a few weeks ago and have been working through some games I got through PS+ but never touched. NFS:Most Wanted is an incredible achievement, effectively a mini port of Burnout Paradise.
Finally need a new battery though - a charge used to last a couple of weeks!

I've got fond memories of both PH and ST, but I preferred the free roaming offered by boat over the, um, on rails experience of Spirit Tracks. Also having a phantom assistant was a great idea but a bit of a pain to control.
Both games have their drawbacks but I don't see why either wouldn't have aged well.

The Switch would be the perfect portable system if it weren't for a battery life that rivals the Game Gear. You really need to be near a mains to get a decent session out of it.
And for some reason mine keeps disconnecting from the joy cons, even when they're attached. I think mine might just be getting a bit long in the tooth. Worth considering an upgrade to the OLED?

OG launch Switch or the updated battery one? (2019) My OLED model seems absolutely fine for battery life. Used it to play Zelda on a 40 minute commute and was down to 80ish percent. I very rarely play it undocked, though.
Plus you've got options like power banks these days, and you don't have to faff about with rechargable AA batteries or whatever.

Joycons disconnecting while they're attached is worrying - when you connect them to the system it should be physically connected. If you look at the bottom of the joycon's charging rail from below you can see the pins where it connects. Maybe see if there's any grime or anything in the lower part of the joycon rail that might be interfering with the connection.

Ours is doing this too. It annoys the hell out of my kids when the left joycon suddenly decides it's not connected in the middle of a Fortnite shootout or Fall Guys.
I tried cleaning the rails and the contacts with alcohol wipes and it *might* have helped, but I'm not sure if it helped 100%.
I also saw a suggestion of sticking a bit of tape somewhere on the joycon where it connects to the console to make the connection less wobbly... but I can't remember where.
It seems a reasonably common problem. There were some threads on Reddit.
For all it's cool parts, the switch seems remarkably fragile in many places.

Yeah, same problem here with the OG joycons. I ended up buying a new set in lockdown, been fine since.

So you think the problem was on the joycons, not the body?

Aesthetically the DS Lite is a complete knockout.
Games were pretty good too.

So you think the problem was on the joycons, not the body? Yup. In my case anyway.

Why is the Switch at number 1? Great Software for sure, but my god is it the most uncomfortable device to hold and use.

If it was down to a unit you could have in your inside breast pocket and whip out whenever, the DSLite wins hands down. It was peak handheld form and function.
Plus it was, um, good for sailing on the seven seas.
