You know that you can download your library to keep, right?

Download, then rip, then refund, buy another book, download, rip, refund, repeat until they ban your account. Open up a new account...

There are easier ways of stealing them than that.

Must. Stop. Buying. Old. Comics. Dale? 🤣 Seriously though I started appraising all my comics that I've kept in storage at mum's place since I've been living abroad and I haven't really taken stock of what I actually have which has been err surprising.

YouTube have emailed me saying they’re cancelling my Premium cos they don’t believe I’m in Argentina. Which I’m not, but still. 90p a month was a lot more palatable than £16.99, guess I’m not using YouTube anymore. It was nice while it lasted.

I tried to get that to work a few times but couldn't make it stick. Tossers.

You know that you can download your library to keep, right? Yeah, you can listen to your library after you cancel. But since they've removed the option to buy it, I can't add it to my library in the first place unless it comes back in the next 5 days. Audible's system is really odd for me, probably because I don't get much time to listen: - You get a credit for 1 book a month to add to your library, but I generally don't finish one book a month, so I'm already building up a backlog. Plus they often have 2-for-1 sales, so the backlog gets even bigger. - So I tend to subscribe for a few months, and then cancel for a few months to catch up. - But when I cancel they offer me deals to keep me, and when I rejoin I often get a free book, so the backlog gets even bigger. - But now they have this Plus Catalogue of free books while you're a member, so I feel like I should take advantage of those while I'm subscribed... so I'm not even listening to the books I buy while I'm a member! So the backlog gets longer, which encourages me to unsubscribe for a while. It's like everything they've done to try and keep me subscribed has the exact opposite effect because it makes it impossible to listen to the books at the same rate as the membership acquires them. Maybe if I was commuting and had the time to listen to 2+ books a month it'd work better.

I've subbed to premium via India a couple of times but it just felt like a bit of a faff with auto renew never working. I just use revanced/smarttube instead, but that's becoming more and more of a faff. Smarttube seems to keep breaking with 403 errors the past couple of weeks, and revanced seems to have duff versions you should avoid. Shorts are killing decent YouTube content, so I'll probably just stop using it soon too. A Bobby fingers video once in a blue moon is the only thing I'd genuinely miss. /edit Although arguably I'm killing quality content too, but fuck it, I'll blame shorts!

MyVodafone has a free 2 month YT trial, might treat myself in Nov/Dec as well as a 3 month Apple TV+ trial.

I had the old ad-free Netflix tier by using a VPN to register elsewhere. Only saved me a couple of quid but it's the principle of it.

I've still got the family plan, from before. It was worth it considering how much it got used. I still watch it all the time, too so there's no way I'm going back to the ad-version. Tbh, it's almost worth the extra £3 a month to have an account to click on random YouTube links without it polluting my main feed. Bill in the rain , I just download everything (with Libation) when it's added to my library and then I've got it, regardless of what happens to my sub or whether they leave it on there.

My YouTube recommendations have been hot garbage ever since my 8 year old worked out she could watch shorts on my phone when I left it unattended. Now it’s all theme park secrets and slime ASMR

My annual free Disney+ subscription with Lloyds has automatically downgraded to the basic bitch tier with ads. I could probably live with the ads, but what the fuck is the point of cutting the quality down to 1080p as well?
You can't even pay to upgrade back to a decent tier.
Think I'll cancel it and just get free cinema tickets instead.

rftp I probably should download and backup all my audiobooks, just in case. But I've found that I basically never listen to the non-Audible audiobooks that I have because it's a pain to get the huge files onto my phone.

Errr, I just airdrop them from the Mac or use GoogleDrive. Libation will convert them to MP3 on the download so they're not too massive.

I need to look at re-encoding the ones I picked up from Humble Bundle I think, as they're ridiculously big. That'd make Google Drive more possible (If I hadn't already filled it up with all the huge e-comic files from Humble Bundles!)

Facebook Marketplace man.
Two Fender guitar hard cases, like new, listed as collection only at £65 a pop. Plenty of photos showing condition of exterior, interior, inside compartment etc etc. Marked as cash on collection.
Bear in mind that new these are currently £140-160.
Within an hour, ping, ping ping!
‘Is this still available’
‘Will you take £50’
‘Can you post this please’ - no. It’s fucking massive and it’ll arrive with wear and I’ve been up front about this.
‘Redacted offered you £35. Message from Redacted - can you bring this to near Manchester University please for £35?’ Got to admire the stones on this guy, lowballing me on an item the night it’s posted. And asking for free delivery.
Have sold one anyway, to a mate that was already interested/aware.
I actually want to thin out my actual guitar collection now and I’m DREADING it.

Ah yeah, I had a bit of a rage quit on the last messenger convo when I tried to sell something on marketplace. Think I ended the chat with "FUCKING HELL!" and banned the other guy.
This was the fifth or sixth person to contact me and I couldn't have made it clearer than it was collection only. INCLUDING AT THE FUCKING START OF OUR CHAT.
Had a lengthy back and forth about the condition including grabbing some more pictures and he seemed happy, so I asked when suited him for collection from my southern town. "Oh, I'm in Leeds. Can you post it instead?"

Classic Marketplace. In every single advert I write I state our road name, town and postcode, everything but the house number, without a doubt absolutely everyone has asked where am I or for my address, rather than just the house number.

When we last moved house, we listed loads of stuff for basically a tenner each and collection only. All the stuff was furniture and big items we just didn’t want to take with us and worth loads more than a tenner. Without fail we were asked by loads of people if we could deliver it and would offer us £5.

Shortly before I gave up selling things on Guntree back in the day, I was trying to sell one of those platforms for the back of a buggy that the older kid can stand on. I’d bought it from Guntree but didnt get on with it so selling it on.
Anyway, item priced at 10 quid. One crazy bastard messaged me asking if I’d accept £8.37 as it’s all the money she had and really needed this for a present for her child. Just bizarre.

I think its because you were trying to sell things that weren't guns. You should have used Gumtree instead.
