I mean from the gameplay it already looks more 'fun' than what I've played with Starfield.

John Walker is unimpressed with the demo:
EDIT:
"Choices Matter Trailer"
IGN: First 23 minutes of gameplay:
It really does look like an on-rails, House Of The Dead style thing.
And it's got subtitles that don't match the spoken dialogue. Very good.

I've watched a few gameplay videos and, as someone who absolutely loves Veerhoven's film, I just can't get excited for this. Something about it feels off.
I honestly don't think anyone will remember this even exists in 6 months time.

For me it was the shocking lip syncing, well, that lack of it and the blank mannequin faces. All so plasticky and shiny and smooth and also the really rite gameplay. I wouldn't be happy paying for it regardless of the nostalgia for Robert Copter.

I just can’t get over how Zyrr spelled Verhoeven.

I'm not surprised really, it's a AA studio and I doubt they have the capacity or funds to give a UE5 game on a Switch the attention it deserves.

Reviews are out now and it seems to range from mediocre to kinda good which means I'll pick it up once it's £20.
Slightly disappointed that it doesn't really have any of the social commentary nods from the film though.

Average reviews is what I was expecting for the game as is not AAA studio and their terminator game was good in B level sort of game tbh. It was not a masterpiece but was a faithful future war game, better than any terminator game in a long time
Shame about the lack of social commentary nods from the film and then you get dumb takes like in the EG review (the robocop world is not the real world situation)

The EG review materially reads how I'd interpreted the demo. As someone who likes Robocop I'm happy enough - I spent a good half hour wandering around the police station in the demo because it's recreated to such a high standard.
On the social commentary stuff, I think that given the standard of the obviously ESL writing and non-Peter Weller voice acting any real attempts would have been extremely bad so I'm happy for them to stick to the more cartoony side of it and tonally I think it works as well as you can expect any Robocop game realistically could.

Yeah, this a Game Pass/PS Plus/Epic Store freebie for me I think. Not in any hurry for it.

It looks like something I'll pick up once it drops to £25 or there abouts. I actually REALLY liked their Terminator game and it looks like the same love has gone in to this.

I bought it and I am really, really enjoying it. It's a bit choppy and budget in a few places but as an homage to RoboCop I couldn't really have asked for any more. It's a fair bit better than I expected it to be. Captured the world perfectly.

I'm about 7 hours in and enjoying it a lot. You feel the budget and the eastern European origin but it gets so much stuff right and there's a great sense of place - it genuinely feels like you're in among the original film's sets.

I’ve been playing it on and off, it’s actually pretty good, and at times bizarrely hilarious. Holding off on going to stop an abducted cop getting murdered while you hand around a get well soon card to be signed and fetch people’s towels after stalking them into the shower is all treated like it’s just a day in the life of Robert Cop.
Also grabbing people and hurling them at the ceiling will never get old.

Just finished this on Series X, been playing it on and off since early December. It's fucking great, I don't resent a single penny of the £40 I spent on it.
Definitely way down in AA town, but it absolutely nails the aesthetic and once the upgrade system gets its hooks into you and you unlock things like DOUBLE GORE and INSTANT RELOAD then it really really feels like the movies.
The storyline is guff, obvs, and the vocal delivery and editing of the cutscenes is undergrad level bad but somehow it just holds together really well. So much so that I'm contemplating a second playthrough.
I'd buy any DLC (for a dollar) in a heartbeat.
