Loki and the TVA aren't involved directly but events in that will have an impact further down the line.
WandaVision is the opening chapters of this movie though. The TV shows are an integral part of the MCU now, there's no getting away from that.

If you don't know at least the events of WandaVision - what Wanda does, the main supporting characters, how that series ends - then I'd imagine MoM might be at least a bit confusing because they don't really explain it. Not in an expositionary way.
For me, it was a bit like when I watched the Harry Potter movies years ago, and I wondered if any of the plots would make sense if you hadn't read the books.

They bring in the supporting characters from Wandavision? I'm a bit surprised about that.

And Wandavision is arguably the best of the tv series in a lot of ways so its not a huge chore to binge.

Ha, I think the first three episodes are the best things Marvel has done on TV!

At least after that it got better.

For the record I took my kids (8 and 12), and they were fine. And they arenāt hardcore gore enthusiasts or anything. There is one bit right at the start which my younger one thought was gross but heās not been taking about anything else since hahaha.

They bring in the supporting characters from Wandavision? I'm a bit surprised about that. Not really, no. Just the two that are integral to Wandaās story. This film is a sequel to that. Saw it yesterday. Liked it but itās mid-tier Marvel. Raimiās quirky, overly theatrical, directing style did jar for a bit too often (I think Derrickson could have made the same film better) but the film itself is fine, if lacking in any real feeling of peril. For the stakes that they claim are on the line it just didnāt feel like it, and I felt it needed more main MCU cast to help sell that. Itās fairly obvious why that wouldnāt have entirely worked though it would have been nice to even just include Shang-Chi. I liked the more horror style associated with the mystic stuff.

About including Shang Chi; the MCU overall is feeling a bit disconnected right now. I know not every film can have 100 avengers in it, but: no mention of the emergence of Tiamat? At all? Not even a one-liner? Or Arishem appearing in the sky?

Got my hopes up for this one. Feels like itāll have a similar light comic touch as Hawkeye.

There's a lot wrong with the Avengers game but Kamala Khan is easily the best part of the game, her story is a lot of fun.

There's a bit of embiggening in the trailer, they may just not be showing much deliberately.

The thing with her power in in the comics, donāt often look great in films such as the FF. They probably could work, if done right. Either way, I am looking forward to it.

It looks a bit like theyāve given her sort of Green Lantern powers rather than physical embiggening.
I suppose to tie her powers to existing MCU ones like Shang Chiās rings for possible future team ups (or just in-universe consistency)

It's a very cromulent word.

I think we should all extend our contrafibularities to those that have expanded the lexicon around here.

Never used that word before, but it's obviously time to. "Wife! Come hither! I am embiggening!"

Why is everyone saying embiggening? Because it's less cultural appropriation-y than saying "Inuk chuk" for when you want to become 50 feet tall.
