Swap out Liberty for Winnie the Pooh and see if that's ok.

Fuck China and their billions. Their requests get more absurd as time goes on.
No statues, no gay stuff, no Tibet, no Taiwan, don't criticise X, we dont like the hero's face.

I see in quite a different way, more that the government is so incredibly scared of their stranglehold on the public they're scared that something innocuous in a film will destroy it. But also fuck the Chinese government, I can't support a government that bans Back to the Future.

I don't blame him tbh must be absolutely exhausted.
I'd still be up for Peyton Reed's vision of a 60s set FF movie and they get stuck in the Quantum Realm and later get released into present day.

The movies that do actually get made in China (like the Wolf Warrior ones) are a real blast from the past. All the rah rah patriotism of your 80s Hollywood actioner, minus the irony and humour. And that lack of humour actually makes it pretty funny.
Scott Adkins is in the first one! And in the last of the Ip Mans, which is also pretty fucking hilarious in a mostly unintentional way.

If early Twitter impressions are anything to go by then it appears that Doctor Strange might be hit and miss? Does sound like if you're a Sam Raimi fan then you'll be pleased by the "upsetting imagery". Sounds like it will be distinct at least which for a Marvel movie, might work out well.

The reference to America Chavez in a review had me confused that they'd done a crossover with Judge Dredd for a moment there. I'm far more disappointed now.

BBC dude who generally is a bit arty and not a big fan of marvel movies gives it 5/5 and maybe best marvel movie ever, but also compares it to an indie movie.
I didn't read the rest of the review, but that sounds like the kind of thing that would appeal to some, and not to others.

Final Moon Knight episode went up an hour ago. Good stuff.

Not the worst final episode but still goes a bit punchy.
There’s a mid credits scene on this one.

I enjoyed it, I hope it's not the last we see of Moon Knight.

I enjoyed it but the last episode didn’t change my mind on thinking it would’ve been better as a movie. I didn’t really care about the characters enough for it to feel as weighty as it deserved over six hours.
Unless I just totally missed something because I know bot all about the comic book Moonknight.

Maybe the film will be a Midnight Sun's thing, after the new Blade film has Jon Snow in it.

Just back from seeing Strange, and it was very good - sometimes great - but not as good as No Way Home. Probably mid-table Marvel but that's still obviously quite high praise (at least from me).

Do you need to see the last spider-mans movie to watch this?

No. I'd recommend you watch WandaVision though. Brill. Have seen that and, yeah, that did look like a prereq from the trailers. Cheers! (Im waiting for spider-man to drop for free because I dont really care about it but I *love* Sam Raimi so more than happy to pay to see this)

Sam Raimi fans will be very happy with Dr Strange 2 more general MCU fans may not be as happy.
I thought it was great and definitely stay around for the end credits scene, it's brief but got the whole cinema laughing on their way out.
Very happy not to have been spoilt about the whole Illuminati membership, especially one particular member.
Wandavision watching is really essential too, No Way Home less so but as that's fricking great you're missing out.

That it's "very Raimi" is the bit that I've been very wary of since he was announced. I don't dislike his movies, in fact I think Army of Darkness is great, but they're a specific thing, and even in movies like Spider-man 2 I find his style a distraction. I don't think his films age that well either.
A mate saw DS2 last night and thought it was shite, placing it on his scale down with Thor 2. He's a big fan of Marvel in general, and especially the MCU, as am I. So I'm now expecting to be very disappointed on Saturday.

Thor 2 was yawn inducing, I'd be impressed if it managed to get to those levels.

I'm doubtful that it will be that bad for me either but he's a big Marvel fan, reads a lot, and really didn't like the choices they've made with DS2.

Personally, I think I'd put Thor 2 over the first Doctor Strange. But I'm still excited to see Strange 2, despite being bored by Strange 1 AND WandaVision.
The multiverse intrigues me, and it's Raimi. And I want to see how much of What If..? they bring in, apart from Dracula Strange.

There's one very icky bit that was so Evil Dead 2 Raimi it was surprising Feige okayed it.
I'm not a complete Raimi fan though, I thought what happens to the protagonist in "Drag Me to Hell" really wasn't justified by what she did.
