I mean, there is the thorny issue of why we should give the slightest fuck about this person which I think is probably quite crucial. Isn't that the case for any new drama though, MCU or not?
It's up to the drama to make us care.
No. When The X-Files started it actually spent time introducing the characters rather than assuming we had seen A-W Files. |

Isn't it the same as not needing to read every single marvel comic produced ever to be able to read some / ones you like? Yeah kinda. If you buy a collected paperback then you just take it for what it is. I've done that as a jumping off point for some characters that I've never been interested and then gone back to look at the earlier stuff if it really grabs me. Comics also now reset themselves every few years specifically for to create a jumping on point. |

I mean, I think Thunderbolts* looks really good and really fun, but then I like most of those characters and I wanna see more of them (yes, even Ghost). But I do worry most other people might shrug a little bit. On the other hand, they're hanging the trailer off Florence Pugh pretty heavily, which is probably a good idea. If it's exciting enough for people to see "Florence Pugh does an action movie" then I guess they're onto a winner. To be honest, I'm mostly interested in it because it stars Florence Pugh. I've liked pretty much everything she has done (except Don't Worry Darling, which she was still the best thing about). The asterisk still worries me though. It's probably just something like *and Sentry. |

I'm on board for it. Teaser(trailer?) did the job and got me further interested than I already was. Let's be honest though, it's rare a trailer will put me off something entirely, but I'm less likely to care about seeing it asap. Even that hot garbage that was gladiator 2 trailer hasn't stopped me wanting to check it out.
Pugh is easily the main attraction her though so its wise to usher her forward a bit more than the others. What I do like however, is this is a vehichle to try and develop some of the lesser known actors and see if they can step up a bit more, lord knows Mackie can't act for shit and recycling RDJ is low key desperate.
I quite liked USAgent and Bucky O'Hare as characters and I'm fully down for a WinterSol style espionage-em-up.

Great news for fans of The Eternals if they have made what looks like a sequel to not just the shittest marvel movie but one of the shittest movies I’ve ever seen full stop.

I did wonder if it was Taskmaster. Then I wondered if it was Ghost but her mask could change. But then I realized they were standing together in some shots.
When making a team of lots of lesser-known side characters, who are masked, I'm not sure it's a good idea to totally redesign their outfits and also make 2 of them look very similar. But what do I know.
As long as it has little Alex Horne, we're good.

I didn’t mind Eternals. It was a proper attempt to to do a multi character story, without the set up of Captain America, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Thor and the other two. The lack of engagement and investment didn’t pay off for many, but I enjoyed it enough too watch it several times. You have to assume that Marvel learnt a lesson, and look ed at how they introduce and set up new characters.

2 eps in and we're struggling to feel enthused to put Agatha on. It's the definition of "fine" so far with a dash of "bleh". Does it get better by ep 3?

I'm losing interest after 3. I vaguely remember Agatha was in Wandavision but I'm really not sure why I should care about her trying to get her powers back? None of the characters seem particularly interesting and Agatha's shtick got old fast.
