I was going to come on and say something similar. When I look back at the post-Endgame content, there are some films and shows that I absolutely adored. Even ignoring my outlier delight at Love and Thunder, I genuinely think She-Hulk, Ms Marvel, No Way Home, Guardians 3, WandaVision, and Hawkeye are really, really good, up in the top end of MCU offerings. Then you've got Moon Knight, Loki, Multiverse of Madness, Shang-Chi, and probably another one or two I'm forgetting, which were all good, fun times.
I wonder if the reason why there might be a little less enthusiasm is partly because it doesn't feel like it's building towards anything, or it's all so disparate that we don't feel we're following one story at the moment; individual films/shows might be great but it doesn't add to a whole because, well, Shang-Chi's only cropped up in one film (for example).
Since maybe Age of Ultron the universe felt really interconnected even if the films didn't bleed into each other that much. Going all the way back to the start of the MCU - when they really were a bit more separate - it wasn't as big a deal because we weren't used to it. But dropping back out of shared universe mentality has maybe broken the bonds a bit. That's my theory anyway.

I will keep banging the drum that D+ is the main reason quality has fallen. The minute they started seeing it all as ‘content’ needed to keep that massive container topped up it all went wrong.

I think it has spread thing more thinly, definitely. Plus divided the audience as not everyone will have seen the tv shows. A lot of the post-endgame-related stuff has been in tv shows rather than movies, and a lot of the tv shows would have been better as movies.

It’s a rock and a hard place. They have contrived a situation where people complain if there isn’t enough content dropped onto Disney+ and then complain when it’s inevitably diluted shite.
And, yes, I prop that up. As much as I complain, I would definitely have cancelled my sub if there wasn’t a drip feed of chaff to moan about.

I’ve enjoyed most of the D+ stuff even if the broad trend in quality has been broadly downward.
They should more one-shot stuff like the GOTG Christmas Special and that werewolf one. They’ve proven pretty conclusively that most D+ shows only have around an hour of good stuff in them anyway already.

I think its probably more that they just realised there is a lot of homework that needs to be done before anyone gives a shit about it This is exactly what it is, fwiw. Probably a 3 minute trailer and two of those are ‘previously on….’ before cutting to a minute of fight scenes set to a jarringly out of time version of intergalactic.

Loki s2 Ep 1 is up, was very good. If you didn’t the like the first season, you still won’t! I really appreciated the explanation of last season’s cliffhanger actually made sense. that the Kang statues are there and they don’t know Lok, not because the TVA is somehow a new timeline now, but because he’s in the past before they met him.

Very much enjoyed the first episode of season 2, adding Ke Huy Quan to the cast looks like a fantastic decision. I'm surprised at how much Oklahoma looks like Southern England though. Filming moved from Atlanta to Pinewood for season 2.

Is it really pointless? His hair is quite long and wavy. I can see it getting in his eyes a fair bit.
Anyway, great first episode, glad to have it back. I can't get over how much nicer it looks than Secret Invasion; the design, the framing, the colour...

Cracking first episode. First time in ages that I'm genuinely excited to see what comes next in anything MCU.

I’d kind of hoped they’d dump all episodes at once, as my sub expires next week… I guess one more month won’t make Bob Iger THAT much wealthier.

Just unsubscribe then come back for a month? Yeah that’s the vague plan. Reminds me I need to look up when it finishes as I might need to delay resubscribing for a week or two to catch the rest of it in a month. I’m not really aware of what they’ve got after this. Daredevil Born Eventually, no idea when that will actually come out, presumably all content after Loki is heavily delayed by the strikes.

Final episode is Nov 10th, so you might not need to delay it.

Just unsubscribe then come back for a month? This is basically my life hack for streaming services. I never forget what I'm subscribed to, because any time I subscribe to something (after a critical mass of stuff I want to watch is reached) I'm immediately hammering the cancel subscription button. I keep Amazon and a couple free ones around, but most other things are only a sporadic month here and there.

The good thing about doing the cancel-binge on Prime is if you’re quick enough Amazon will refund your £7.99 too

After what happened with Secret Invasion they're desperate not to have it go wrong and considering this quote from the article -
"But sources say that Corman and Ord crafted a legal procedural that did not resemble the Netflix version, known for its action and violence. Cox didn’t even show up in costume until the fourth episode."
What the fuck were they doing?!

That's hilarious. Their approach to making TV shows was basically "make a film but longer and let the CGI fix shit"

I can't get over how much nicer it looks than Secret Invasion; the design, the framing, the colour... Agreed. It's not the greatest show in the world by any means, but the gulf in quality between this and Secret Wars is really incredible.

That's hilarious. Their approach to making TV shows was basically "make a film but longer and let the CGI fix shit" "Through it all, the company eschewed the traditional TV-making model. It didn’t commission pilots but instead shot entire $150 million-plus seasons of TV on the fly. It didn’t hire showrunners, but instead depended on film executives to run its series. And as Marvel does for its movies, it relied on postproduction and reshoots to fix what wasn’t working." That is mental, what genius thought that was a good idea?

Tbf, he didn't show up in costume for pretty much the entire first season. Plus his new costume looks terrible. A legal procedural isn't a terrible idea, given that they want to diversify the kinds of shows they're making. Turning She Hulk into something a bit Ali McBeal worked for them. And people apparently liked the fact that Wandavision took 4 episodes to get bloody started. But yeah, for this particular show, making it too legal procedural and not enough action would be a weird choice. Though the netflix version had its fair share of court room stuff.
