March, the original plan was for there to be something like a three month gap but COVID rather fucked up the release schedule as they were supposed to come out in 2022.

The sound mix on Spidey was a bit off, just really quiet so the chaos of the visuals didn’t have the impact I think they should’ve.
Apparently it’s a thing.
That said, I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to check it again at home with the volume up a bit!

I must have missed that. Genuinely didn’t know. To be fair, aside from that First Look trailer a year ago, none of the subsequent trailers have made mention of it as far as I can see. Judging from the screening I was in yesterday I'd wager a good 90% of the people going to see this are oblivious to the fact it's a two partner. Genuinely thought people were going to riot when it (didn't) finish, haha.

I'm sure the first Spider-verse film was on Disney at some point. Went to watch it last night, but found it was only available to stream with the SkyCinema add-on from Now. Ended up just buying it on 4K disc for £12 (after shipping) from HMV.

Went to watch it with son for a refresh ready to watch sequel and gone.

Ah, it was probably Netflix I spotted it on then.
Not seen it since it was out in the cinema, so wanted to re-watch before going to the new one. It was one I had been meaning to pick up on disc anyway.

I was also in the camp of not knowing it was a two-parter and going "WTF" when it didn't actually end.
Good film otherwise though.

I agree entirely, but I could watch Infinity War or End Game as a standalone. I cannot imagine watching this, or its sequel on their own. And I am not ready to commit 5+ hours to a rewatch in my Spider-Man underoos. Lengthy directors cut, say LotR, still see four hours as enough. And those versions are fucking shite homages to the runaway sketch in Quest for the Holy Grail for the first eight hours. I still hate LotR more than this.

I do have to dispute that there is no conclusion with the ending here. Gwen in particular has a pretty clear arc, with the prologue clearly setting up the journey she will take over the course of the film and the final moments providing closure for that. Miles also has one too even if the universe mix-up throws a spanner in the works of him actually reaching his conclusion

It does reach a narrative point, in an Empire Strikes Back sort of way. I'm sure on a re-watch it will actually make more sense as an endpoint to that narrative. It was more just needing a piss and going "wait they're introducing more characters? I finished my beer 2 hours ago. How long is this film going to be? Oh what?". Obviously in my head.

It was more just needing a piss and going "wait they're introducing more characters? I finished my beer 2 hours ago. How long is this film going to be? Oh what?". Obviously in my head. Yeah. Personally I thought it was a fine place to end it, but it seemed like they really dragged out the last section* and it did leave you with a bit of a 'is this ever going to end??' feeling. I had to take one of the kids for a bathroom break during the big spider chase. When we came back it was still going, so I hope we didn't miss anything important there. Then I had to take the other kid for a bathroom break during the whole last scene* thing, and I probably did miss something there, but it already had been going on for like 10 minutes, and I already knew what was going to happen and that it was going to be the ending. * The scenes post the go-home-machine, which all just seemed really dragged out for dramatic effect. They dragged out Gwen looking through that window for about 5 minutes, and we got too many scenes of people standing on buildings in the dark looking brooding. Probably not for kids, but it was really obvious that he'd be in world 42, so they were in different bedrooms, so his uncle would be back etc..

I won't lie I didn't realise he was in world 42 until the mum didn't know who Spider-Man was The ending did drag quite a bit though. Definitely could have shaved off a scene or two, shortened some others. After it became clear it was getting ready to drop the "To be continued...", it seemed to go on for another 10-15 minutes.

After it became clear it was getting ready to drop the "To be continued...", it seemed to go on for another 10-15 minutes. But by the time she said that, Gwen had already had about 10 slo-mo shots of her looking into his window to dramatic music which kinda gave away that it wasn't just gonna be the same one.
Plus, her doing that ended up being kinda like this
except much slower.

I don't think that is right. She was shown outside, supposedly, listening in. It was framed to look like it was following up on her having told him not to tell his parents. Don't think she actually looked in and it was a obviously a different room until after it was clear the mum didn't know what Miles was talking about

I think it also has a slightly different colour pallete, like the rest of the dimensions. But, yes, knowing it was a two parter, I did spend the last 15-20 minutes trying to guess where it would end.
But other than that, I think if they stick the landing on the next one, I make them the pretty much the best marvel movies and its probably up there in the 'greatest trilogies' conversation. No pressure, obviously.
Its just really nice to watch a comic book movie where it feels like people care rather than the 'chuck it in and fuck off' humdrum, factory attitude the rest of them have had recently. It gives the impression they made it because they wanted to, rather than they had a rights obligation to fulfill.

Sony's latest MCU adjacent film that I'm sure it's a complete coincidence that it's coming out in the same month as Spider-Man 2 that features the same villain. It's almost certainly a lot more bloody than Insomniac's game.

Kraven has been very badly overlooked in the Spiderman movie canon so at least Insomniac should give him a good showing.

That looks awful. Thankfully the trailer appears to have shown pretty much the entire movie, so I don't need to watch it.
