The Dreg Heap was pretty cool with all its verticality and especially being able to walk up the side of Earthen Peak! FromSoftware couldn't resist once last poison swamp for old-times sake.
The Demons/Demon Prince started out a bit of a hacky-slashy mess where I couldn't see what the fuck was going on. Eventually got the hang of them only to find the real boss in phase 2. No doubt, it became a much better fight at that point and he took me a fair few attempts before the last Demon perished upon my Black Sword. Now in what I believe is the grand final level, the Ringed City - very awesome, and very deadly as I found to me detriment rather quickly.

No Dark Souls tonight as I am pissed as a fuck. Rarely get Thursday off but tonight was the night and the local village social pub is still £2.99 a pint. Probably couldn't beat Pinwheel if I tried.

Why not play Shadow Tower instead, and realize there's something out there that is more obscure than Demon's Souls? I've had that, along with the first three King's Field games ready to go for a while now. Shadow Tower looks the closest to the Souls formula but I think I will still begin where it all started for FromSoftware. I died to a spider within 1 minute last night then passed out, so not exactly stellar progress! Luckily no giant dumps in the lounge though.

Confusingly continuing on the other Dark Souls thread, I have now seemingly fully explored the Ringed City and WHAT a final location it is. Possibly squeezing in a whole Dark Souls mini-adventure into it no less. We have a great vista, a convoluted city, a swamp, a dragon making progress difficult, Patches, a Catacomb and a grand Church. It was certainly challenging, but never unreasonably so. Top tier From level design once again.
The boss of the city, Halflight, was set in a beautiful room to fantastic music, but is only an NPC enemy with a special outfit and attack. I gather he can get replaced by an invader if I had been online, but in my always offline state I found Halflight not too taxing. He kept me on my toes throughout and is the best NPC only boss when compared to DSII's Gank Squad and Demon's Old Monk summoning. Not great competition I know, but DSIII coming out on top in the boss department once again.
Obviously you likely all know who the REAL boss is once the terrible truth of the place is revealed. I just have got him to his second phase, but ... just Wow. My arse is going to be kicked for some time here, and it will be a constant pleasure!
Talking of kicking my arse I was pretty pleased to beat Friede and her ugly friend finally only to get crushed again and again to her sodding third form. It's an undeniably cool battle though.
And let's not even begin talking about my pitiful attempt at Midir.

Counterpoint to the Ringed City bullshittery: The Ringed City has (boss name spoiler, for those that haven't played it) Slave Knight Gael. All other arguments invalid, hand them over for his lady's painting Yep.

Oh at frigging LAST. Sister Friede is finally dead. Did she give me more trouble than any other FromSoftware boss so far? Feels that way. Probably Lud and Zallen caused more misery still, though in that case for all the wrong reasons. This one of course was a corker, even though phase 2 always ends up a bit of a chaotic mess. Blackflame Friede is where the real challenge is and I eventually got her the moment I started using a massive sword. Wish I had tried that sooner, graah!
Just Midir and Gael to go, then time for a short break before NG+!

Friede is an epic fight and one of From's best imo. It literally has everything in it. It's superb. Mind you, Gael is awesome as well.
Midir is my biggest achievement and I think he's one of the hardest fights ever but beating him is a bit of a drag as you're kind of just baiting the same few attacks and getting one hit in when you can. Think the first time I beat him it took me twenty five minutes on my winning go! Can kill him much quicker now mind you.

I have decided after much deliberation that my favourite soulsborneikiroring fight ever is actually the Dancer from DS3. It's just beautiful.

Never really been that bothered about Dancer or found it a difficult fight. Amelia (BB) is definitely my favourite, Undead Legion second maybe

Dacner isn't difficult, I just love the whole thing. From the entrance to the music, the way it moves, the boss area. It's just a thing of beauty.
What's Undead Legion? Abyss Watchers?
Dark Souls 3 actually has some fucking brilliant bosses when it all comes down to it. Friede, Gael, Abyss Watchers, Dancer, Twin Princes, Champion Gundyr, Nameless King, Aldrich... Even Wolnir - as shit as he is - has one of the best entrances ever. I recall first meeting him and shitting bricks when this colossal skeleton started to crawl towards me out of the dark.

Artorias, Slave Knight Gael or Genichiro for me. Perfect mix of lore, music and difficulty.
Honorable mentions to Ludwig, Manus and Ornstein & Smough

Dancer was one of my favourites, just such a well designed boss fight in every way. But then I agree with previous sentiments that DS3 has the most consistently good boss battles out of all the FromSoftware games (I have played)
DS2 is probably the weakest in that department, certainly where the base game and 'co-op'areas are concerned. To be fair, quite a lot of them are really just minibosses with music, fog doors and a health bar. DS3 could have made a good 8 or so into 'bosses' to make up the numbers and the quality wouldn't have been so consistent.
Large Crystal Lizard would be a lacklustre boss rather than a nasty surprise in the tutorial area.
Boreal Outrider Knight would probably be complained about with his erratic movements
The two big demons would be marked down as both too similar to the DS bosses they are modelled after, as well as the Old Demon King himself.
Sulyvahn's Beasts would make a good boss, though only with one phase and perhaps some of its attacks would be complained as poorly telegraphed and unfair?
The Deep Accursed thing would be another decent one phase boss. Probably the best of the miniboss roster, but it would lose something in the surprise it causes when it ambushes you
The giant Slave errr Giants make better environmental obstacles than boss battles, with the upper portion being too difficult to survive and the feet section being very simple.
Lothric Wyverns are the same as the Ancient Wyvern but with less moves, and AW is generally considered DS3's worst boss.
The Hand-eye baby monstrosities in the Profaned Capital could be a boss too (maybe with one then two), but their moveset and grab would make then less than enjoyable.
I think that's all of them. Great as unexpected encounters, probably slightly spoiled if had been made actual bosses.
Edit: Carthus Sandworm. How could I forget that gigantic monstrosity. Looks very impressive, but very limited moveset, so again would make a rubbish boss.

That's a surprising contrast I never really thought about. Many of those I find an absolute pain in the ass to fight, most of all the Outrider Knights and Deep Accursed. Sulyvahn's Beasts and Ravenous Crystal Lizards are okay but usually I try to kill them as fast as possible anyway. The sandworm and the wyverns are more environmental hazards than enemies. Out of all the ones you listed, the demons would be least out of place as an actual named boss. Evidently they weren't even willing to give it the Crystal Sage treatment, with one being a boss and another showing up in a level, so it really looks like they had high standards for what was worthy of getting its own fog door. That explains a lot about how it has such a ridiculously high hit rate for great boss fights.

There's something about that thing that puts me on edge. Every damn time. Both encounters just set me off.

I completed DS3, though not the DLCs, including every optional area and boss, so logically I must have met two of these things, and somehow I can’t remember them at all. The Outrider Knights were a massive pain in the arse, and my least favourite enemy of all was the fireball firing priests in cathedral of the deep.

The Brainsucker in Bloodborne is the perfect example of an enemy that is terrifying when met unexpectedly, but becomes a pitiful and weak opponent when it appears on its own as a 'boss' in the Chalice Dungeons. Should never have been a boss along with the Silverbeasts.

Absolute wankers that spam their paralysing attack like nothing else when they're a boss.
