I think just casting different indianas would have been cool.
Give each one a 3 film arch then move on to the next actor. Could have them set in different time periods etc.
It could be decent and like that there could be some possible time travel elements in this so I am interested. Can't be any worse than crystal skull......can it

There was a lot of hidden subtlety and nuance in my post. If it was a new character it’s one thing, when it’s someone reprising their role from decades ago then it would be more jarring if it was someone else replacing him. They could have created a new character I guess but they didn’t. Yeah I’d have just gone with not having that character. He was always a bit of a stereotype anyway without adding in the issue of the actor not being the right race and also being a total cunt. Not a great call. |

Yeah, when I found out as a kid that he wasn't Egyptian it became very Fisher Stevens in the Short Circuit movies. Christ, my mind was blown when I found out he was doing blackface.

I love to tell people that Vasquez in Aliens was played by a blue-eyed blond white woman. The 80s were great. She was a fuckton better as Vasquez than Michele Rodriguez is in Avatar.
I do want to watch the Short Circuit movies again as an adult, because it’s genuinely so bizarre that they couldn’t get a real South Asian guy.

Was watching a Critical Drinker video and YouTube automatically went to that video and I laughed while listening but then a clip from the trailer played and I was like..oh shit.

If its what I think it is then I would be more suprised if it didn't happen. disney own it I think and it's the way of things. The last film was so pants I don't really mind what they do as long as its done well.
Would have liked them to go James bond replace actor route but if not then hey! Will give it a go. |

As for the 4th if the took the actual alien and Winstones character out I probably would have enjoyed it more.
Shias character wasn't that annoying IMO apart from the dumb swinging with monkeys and fencing fight bits.
Enough time has past that they could have just recast him.

I don't know about any leaks, but I'm pretty certain it is going to be time travel. I love a bit of time wimey nonsense, but I'm sceptical how well it will work in an Indiana Jones film.

Phoebe is actively turning me off this. Put almost any other woman in it and I'd be on board. Even that brummie one off daytime telly.
