I toyed with the idea of starting a thread but figured this place would be deserted by the time it actually came out.

I think Max Payne remake is first to come out I think. Now that should be interesting.

I'm delighted - really enjoyed Control, even though it ran like absolute ass on my base PS4.
The Max Payne games were before my time (including the third one!), but chances are I'll check out the remakes.
It has been a good week for gaming.

That's great. Very much enjoyed Control 1, but it is also a game that could be improved in a few areas. Perfect kind of game to get a sequel.
Looking forward to Max Payne as well. Hope it is a big success and Remedy get to make a real Max Payne 3.

I actually really enjoyed Max Payne 3, though it was stylistically not the same I think it did a good job, the Tony Scott stylings were a natural progression from the originals neo-noir trappings.
I loved Control though, the world building and characters were great.

They've got Alan Wake 2 out before it as well.
I love Control to fucking bits. Nearly platinumed it for the second time on the PS5 (trophies don't carry over from PS4 version). So I'll be all over this like a big ginger slug on your face.

I thought Max Payne 3 was great. Really surprised at how divisive it was.
I wish that would get remastered.

Hope it is a big success and Remedy get to make a real Max Payne 3. Not a fan of MP3? Not particularly. It had its moments and I quite liked the weighty movement of old man Max. It wasn't really a Max Payne game though. It took itself far too seriously and the dialogue didn't zing in the same way. The constant loading and unskippable cutscenes really killed it as well.

MP3 was ace you wronguns! Absolutely cracking soundtrack too. Yep, especially the airport shootout. I think I really like it when songs kick in when playing games. See RDR Mexico bit too.

I found it a chore to finish and only went back after God mode came out. It just didn't click with me and I've liked everything else from them.
The Take Control music bit was great though

More ashtray maze please. That sequence elevated the entire game for me. It's honestly my favourite gaming moment of recent years. And one of my favourite gaming sequences. Up there with the end sequence of INSIDE, or Halo's Silent Cartographer, or the intro of Silent Hill 1.

Still have to play the second DLC for Control. Thought the first one was just ok. Is the second an improvement?

I prefer the AWE expansion to the Foundation one, yeah. A nice crossover with Alan Wake.

Yeah I was late to the first one, but I'd play another.
Hopefully it does some new stuff though, first one seemed pretty complete and alot of the ideas will be hard to top.

That aside, can you iterate successfully on, let alone top a game like Control? It was so weirdly wonderful, fresh and absorbing. It's hard to imagine a sequel.
A boss fight against a fridge ffs. Brilliant.
