Never played the original but started this tonight. Just doing bluecreek atm. Seems... fine, so far? Decent atmosphere and the visuals are ok. Not massively blown away by anything yet and the combat seems a bit annoying. I feel like I should probably be using my gun more I guess, I have like 50 bullets now but also about 20 health kits.

Games journalism can really piss me off at times. Like you said the score is whatever their opinion is, but honestly there’s people on here that could write a better article than this.. they’re supposed to be propaaa games journalists. its like the ign reviewer crying about alien isolation and one bit in his footage of the alien killing while in the locker while he had the motion tracker out and cried it was unfair and gave it a bad review!
Some times this propaaa games journalists are actually just failed journalists, not good enough to be doing real stories but it gives them a chance to be seen at the coffee shop with their macbook typing away there
There was one guy at eurogamer ages ago like that jeff malloaf? sure someone here remembers him

Yeah I did a bit more last night too. Slowly mopping up the bits on the side as I go. There's some kind of weird extra tension in this version, in a good way. I can't put my finger on it yet but it's definitely more immersive. It's the music and sound design, it's so unsettling, it's perfection in creating tension. And yes Wunty, hate those leggy bastards too! I think you're right about the music and sound. It's perfectly creepy. |

I entered Brookhaven and kind of noped out when i had to go into the basement. Place is fucking huge. I'm sure it's bigger. I'm not looking forward to it at all. Knowing how the other enemies have been beefed up, I'm shitting it at the thought of fighting the nurses.
It looks absolutely amazing inside though.
This is shaping up to be one of my all time greatest games I think. Just taking my time with it. Think I'm at 8 hours already and I'm only here.

I have succumbed after being told repeatedly I can't say I like survival horror and let this go by without playing and also I can't enjoy survival horror and not enjoy this so it's downloaded, got my headphones and blanket to hide behind. 23 years late but I can finally weigh in on Resident Evil 2 or Silent Hill 2, which lead has the best fringe.

I think possibly because I'm fucking drowning in ammo and health packs. I have 20 health packs and 98 bullets at the moment because I expected it to be tight on resources and am just bludgeoning most enemies with a plank |

The hospital has been the highlight for me so far, has the best atmosphere so far too.
I have 0 bullets after a certain boss.

Game is a bit weird for me on a technical level. Looks great at some points, other times... not so much. I just did the first boss and the rain effect looked rubbish.
