Anybody playing this? Just picked it up on PS5 (£35) and it is absolutely epic. It is a little bit shonky in places, and absolutely nails in 'Pro' mode where you have to navigate manually, but it is so good.

Always fancied giving one of these a go. Does it have decent wheel support?

I don't use a wheel myself, it definitely supports some. I did see somebody on the youtubes complaining about the setup...
Ninja edit - apparently it launched with Logitech and Thrustmaster support, with Fanatec and various others to follow. I brlieve force feedback may be problematic for some, depending on platform.
Obviously I accept absolutely no liability whatsoever.

Very tempted by it, but I wasn't overly enamoured with the last Dakar game a few years ago. In fact, I thought it was awful and that has put me off.

I was tempted but the shite reviews put me off. Think I shall wait for WRC generations instead.

It's definitely an acquired taste, but riding a motorcycle through the mountains at night with a smashed headlight, desperately trying to follow the roadmap... it's so intense that you are genuinely exhausted at the end. But in a good way.

Very tempted- mostly because Saber’s off-road physics in the Mudrunner/Snowrunner games is incredible. Was waiting for a discount like a tightwad.

Kind of tempted to grab it even if reviews aren't great... Bombing it around the desert sounds fun and it's only £28ish most places now.

Man, there is a LOT to like about this- fantastic atmospheric graphics, sound and, most importantly a really satisfying handling model. Barrelling along with rocks zipping past and the whistle on the left from the driver door you just lost is brilliant. The AI are bastards but you see them crashing left and right too so it doesn’t feel too unfair.
But the fucking voice over… an overly caffeinated Tom Cruise, it’s like nails on a chalkboard and, trying to step up from Sport mode, I have ABSOLUTELY no idea where I’m going, if I got there, if I’m not there how far away I am and basically what the actual fuck I’m doing. An absolute exercise in frustration- I know I must be missing something. Really need to be able to toggle navigation stuff on and off so you could at least have the compass always on or something.
It’s great to drive, really good fun, but I’m just not sure how I actually play the f’in game 🤨

It's 30% off on Steam now, enough for me to bite. Downloading now, will give it a shot tomorrow.

I bought WRC Generations yesterday, in case anyone’s wondering- that’s the new, shiny off-road game to get. It’s sodding brilliant. Still like Dakar, and the premise is great, but I’d pick it up a few months down the line when it’s patched a little bit more and the promised content is actually there.
