The infrastructure just isn't there yet in the majority of people's homes. I have an okay internet connection. Not as amazing as some people by any stretch but I can be playing a typical PS5 game if I buy it after an hour or so and never have any issues gaming online.
I tried Destiny 2 and Mafia III on Stadia with the free month and it was just a god awful experience. Really noticeable input lag and constant visual issues as it tried to chug along. I wouldn't even bother if I didn't have a console or anything else to game on, I'd just rather do without.

I definitely believe the market exists and for some locations the infrastructure does exist but they really fucked the jump off and the landing. Messaging, features, payment, all of it.

I can never get my head around Google, they make something good or bad and either way it's dead in a year or two. Not that I use it, but, er, the Google Chrome browser? Exceptions to the rule *exist*. I don't know if she has terrible ideas, because I don't know what she actually adds to a studio. But she's similarly failed upwards. Bad Ideas (Ryan) plus Failing Up (Raymond), with Harrison as the Venn Diagram in the middle. |

Yeah, GFN is well worth a look (presuming they still have a free tier you can try)
Used to be my main way of playing D2 on the couch before we got proper next gen versions. Of course it means you need to own the games, but if you keep up with Epic weekly giveaways you should have a decent library.

Just had my £50 refunded that I paid for cyberpunk and the Stadia kit. Not too shabby given I completed the game, still use the controller on pc and have a chromecast.
