I wonder when Newcastle will ever manage to get our first win of the season?
Spurs next?

Bit of a shame for Brighton tonight. Not capitalising on so many chances is an old habit I was hoping we'd gotten on top of. Lucky escape for Arsenal.

We've played none of the big teams so far and are rightfully basement dwelling. Bruce is a fucking spam faced relic and needs to go, but then does it really matter. The real cancer at the club never gets cured. What a fucking disgrace we are.

It's also the sort of game we would have lost last season, so I can't say I'm disappointed with a point. We were off colour in possession but defended well enough.

To be fair, a point at Brighton is a good result. They always out play us, although I guess that’s not been hard last few years.

It's natural to be frustrated after such a positive performance against Spurs. You wonder why the hell they can't get up for more games like that.

I know this is how tens of thousands of our fans feel but after a decade+ of Ashley I’m not sure how you all can maintain the anger. I’m mostly just enjoying the farce of it all and hoping each week that it finally be our turn to get a result. That and pre-parenthood I just started attending Northern League matches.

Watford have already sacked their manager.

I was happy with a draw yesterday. As Dougs said we defended well and the back five were pretty decent.
Brighton outplayed us for about 80% of the match although I actually thought Arteta got the subs right. Odegaard had an off game, and Auba isn't suited to holding the ball up, which we needed. Once Lacazette came on we finally had a bit more control and had chances to win it ourselves (which admittedly would have been very harsh on Brighton).
It is a really young team with several new players, especially without Xhaka, and we have to accept a degree of inconsistency. Same goes for the manager. Pleasingly, there was nothing wrong with the attitude or application and we battled well. We didn't lose and it's got to be good experience. A proper pissing rain, combative, high tempo, difficult Prem away day. Kudos to Brighton.

Picking Liverpool. The way they break is perfect against a city team that want to keep possession in their opponents half.

Watford have already sacked their manager. Feels like he had a longer spell there than most of his predecessors. At 10 months.

17 managers in 10 years apparently. I've probably had less pairs of socks in that time.

On target anyway.

I didn't think Arsenal played awful, compared with Tottenham last week who looked like they have serious problems to solve.

Yeah I don't know why the anger lingers, habit I guess. I just get so frustrated at the ineptitude and mismanagement. I swear we could do a better job. Maybe I'll try your approach and laugh rather than spit feathers. Fortunately the cycle has been broken with my son who has no interest in the Toon at all 😌

My most accessible club now is Blyth Spartans so my boys first game (he’s 2 and half now) will probably be watching them. Admittedly they’ve had a couple of shite seasons too but at least their issue was just football not whatever you’d call Ashley’s plan.

My boy has massively got into football in the last 6 months but doesn't want to support Newcastle because they're shit. Hard to argue really. He's identifying as a PSG fan at the moment.

My nephew went to a Stoke match last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Even at Stoke. There's something electric about being in amongst a crowd of thousands of people singing and shouting, it's almost religious

Football is about where you're from, local community.
Or it's just superstars running around in foreign countries I guess.

Get in! Our first bit of decent play and we score. Time to push on and get the winner.

Typical Villa. Someone hasn't scored in a while? They'll score against us. On a bad run? You'll win.

Really happy with that result. Villa always a difficult game and we really needed that win.
Brentford smashing it in the PL so far!
