Its kind of wild that Newcastle’s overall goal difference is 19 and our aggregate score over Sheff Utd accountants for 12 of those (13-1).

They've done every club's goal difference the world of good.

Solid point for the plucky underdogs at OT there.

Was absolutely tragic. Onana constantly hoofing it up to nobody. Is that what they do in training? Is there even training?

I just hope the next managerial import from the Dutch league is as much fun as the soon-to-be-export.

That the biggest managerial rivalry in recent years is going to end Pep 5/6 - Klopp 1 really shows how the drama of the Prem has fallen off a cliff.

Think it was Hummels mocking us for calling the Bundesliga a farmer's league the other day. On point.

Yeah league is in an awful state really. People try to pretend it's the best league still but it really isn't.

I feel like I'm missing a joke here? How is a league that still has three teams in the race (arguably two but still) with a handful of games left a bad one?
Other European leagues are pretty much wrapped up at this point, yet there's still plenty of drama left in the PL race.

Says it all about the quality of the bottom that, if the Premier League had gotten their way and Everton had been docked 17 points in total as they requested across the two hearings, we'd still be 2 points ahead of Luton.

Yep, as much as it's fun to mock Liverpool for only winning one title in that time, they ran Man City about as close as possible even when they did miss out. In those 3/4 years before covid it could easily have gone either way. And now Arsenal are in the mix too. It's a testament to the quality of those teams, and the strength in depth of the league, that Man City aren't running away with the title every year.

Let's not conflate competitiveness with quality.

Doesn't matter, there still isn't a league that can match the quality either. English teams may have stumbled in Europe this year but have won 3 of the last 5 and had 6 of the last 10 finalists.

I think there’s a legit case for Dyche being manager of the season. The correct answer is probably Emery, but to keep Everton up when a) they’re clearly shite and b) the league is trying its hardest to get rid of them, that’s a decent effort.

Just because the difference in points between City and the rest hasn’t been huge doesn’t mean it’s been genuinely competitive.
City have won 5 of the last 6. Most likely they’ll win 6 of the last 7.
Maybe it’s no different from United back in the 90s/00s though.

Won’t City winning this year be the most PL titles in a row by any team ever?

Villa might do alright in the CL next season. Done some really good team building since getting rid of Gerrard.
