As I was pulling out on my way to work a van passed me and then suddenly it's back doors swung open! He carried on completely unaware, and I looked at my partner who had been waving me off while holding the dog, but was now gesturing for me to give chase.
So I set off and caught up with him, started tooting away at him and hoped he got the message. He didn't. He turned right, while I needed to turn left, so reluctantly I turned right and followed. Presumably he thought I was some dickhead and was trying to ignore me so I just kept tooting and then flashing my lights at him down a residential street like a maniac. Eventually he realised something must be up and pulled over, and as I pulled up alongside him he gave me a thumbs up! Worth going the wrong way for that, eventually turned around and ended up only 5 minutes late.
Good deed for the day. Now for some absolute debauchery to balance things out.

Yorkshire Air Museum is *awesome* if you are into military aviation. Only slight disappointments were that the Hurricane was being restored and was therefore barely visible, and they also had a Jaguar that you couldn’t get near or get a good angle of.
But…
Three Buccaneers! One FAA, one 80s RAF, and what I presume was an actual Gulf War example. A Canberra! Both Tornado variants! A LIGHTNING! Meteor! Hunter! Halifax! A C-47 you could go in! A harrier GR3! A Nimrod! A Victor (that is a special looking thing)! A Spitfire! 2 Mirages (quite sexy IRL and not one I’ve ever been bothered about).
It was all a bit much sorry!

It's great there. We went a few years back when our lad was younger. Loved it.
I got all excited about the Harrier, and i think there might have been a Vulcan too?

It's been a fairly productive Sunday all things considered. Started off washing the car while my missus sorted out the overgrown front garden (not a euphemism!), then since it was nice and sunny decided to go for a quick walk before lunch. Ended up out for 90 mins and found an awesome looking route for a bit of biking. Quick bit of lunch then I decided to mow the lawn while it's still nice and sunny, then had the cats out in the garden for an hour or so while we pottered about. Chilled out with DD2 for half an hour or so, then did a bit more in the garden before deciding I really need to chill the fuck out properly now. Made me laugh when my watch started hassling me to get some steps in earlier... Because 400 active minutes clearly isn't enough...

It's been really stormy here, even though I wanted to sort out my 'front garden' so nothing as productive.
Instead I started FF2 part 2. Sunk 7 straight hours into it. I've not had a sesh like that since I was a teen!
A really good day! 😀

Preparing for a new job that starts tomorrow. In a completely different sector from what I've been doing for 30 odd years.
Odd.

Spent about 6 hours playing through Bioshock today, seeing as the missus has been unwell today, been a proper bum!

Good luck Quaddy!
Had a late night night last night watching films, so surprisingly managed to be productive today. Cut the grass (still very, very wet but needed doing), trimmed the neighbour's bush (ooer) that overhangs our garden, general tidy up in the garden, dog walk, then cooked a roast. Now waiting for apple strudel and custard. Nom nom.

Wife and daughter are away for the day/night so cutting the grass while having some beers. Later Helldivers while having a few spliffs and wine.
Quite a nice day weather wise too so all in all it's going to be a good one.

Teaching the exciting subject of Gerunds and Infinitives. It's a little heatwave this weekend as of today with the current temp around 23 degrees, it'll probably be around 25 tomorrow so day drinking is a requirement.

Alton Towers with partner, daughter and niece.
Naughtily done it in term time. Please nobody grass. School have by my count cancelled two and a half days to train teachers how to use an app this term, so f*ck ‘em.
So this was a delayed birthday present for the little one and we splashed out on the silver fast passes for all, and managed to snag a deal on the park tickets through something or other. I have never seen the park so quiet and it was absolutely immense.
By 3 o’clock I’d done:
Galactica The Curse of Alton Manor Nemesis (refreshed - seemed mostly cosmetic tbh although the track was very smooth). Oblivion Rita 13 The Smiler
And managed to fit lunch in. No ride had more than about a 45 minute wait and many ranged from 10-25. We’d probably have managed to get away without the fast passes but they still probably saved a good couple of hours over the day. Bonus too - they didn’t scan us parents on two of the bigger rides so the kids got free re-skips on both queues!
We did the first couple as a family but did let go of the reins so long as they kept in contact - which they did, they were really good.
Neice had never been so that was great. Always a well behaved kid when we take her out too.
Mrs wimped out of Oblivion and Smiler - and to be fair I nearly did for the latter. It is the most intense ride I have ever been on. You know how most rides have like a couple of big signature memorable moments? Every inch of that track is like that and it is VERY disorientating. It stops halfway and I have never experienced vertical dizziness before - the world was spinning but from down to up. Brilliant ride but once was more than enough and they even torture you on the way out with pitch dark corridors and distorted mirrors and this manic tune that never stops playing. Feel sorry for the staff on that one as they have to dress up Lewis Carrol style with the tights and everything and look like right c*nts.
The Curse of Alton Manor was basically a ghost train and a bit naff. Not a fan of ghost trains that use screens and projections.
Everything else was brilliant and there were a lot of firsts for me despite going only about two years back - the quietness of the park and the fast passes really made a difference. Everything except for a couple of shops closed at about 4 so we ended up with an hour and a half until our booking at the Rollercoaster Restaurant - where the stuff comes down a wee rollercoaster track on little Dollie’s - which was quite decent TBF and I snuck a couple of beers in as not driving.
We were I think the last people in the park that were not staying overnight and it really was like a zombie film walking out. No monorail and a veeeery long trek back to the car park, where our car was sitting very lonely indeed.
A f*cking great day. Christ it’s expensive though.

Using www.mp3louder.com/ to boost the volume on older albums. "Misfits - Walk Among Us" has greatly benefitted.

Transferred Pika-brew v1 from its primary fermentation bucket into its barrel. Quite hard, labour intensive work so might have to invest in better siphoning equipment. Now just six weeks before I can actually sample a pint, decide that I hate it, and pour it down the drain.

I remember being about 16 and finding a crate of it down the side of the house when my parents were away for the weekend. It had been there for years but was like hitting the jackpot. Was quite nice, bar the sediment. He also used to make red wine, but properly, with imported grapes from Italy, full on press and all sorts. Like rocket fuel apparently. I was too young.

I used to brew homebrew lager back in the day, the kits and gear could be bought at any Boots, frankly it was disgusting but cheap as chips of course, a few of us would sit in my parents kitchen and sink a warm pint before heading off to the pub, think it was about 15%, bloody awful but good times.

Fiiiiinally got around to sorting out network wiring in the sitting room, as the shite WiFi connection on my Shield TV and Series X has driven me to despair lately.
Little 5 port switch for the TV which is everything I need sorted now and it's absolutely glorious! One of those jobs that I keep putting off, but didn't take much more than an hour in the end and I wish I'd done it the moment I got proper fibre installed.
One of the cats' annual boosters and check up done, quick shopping trip and finished Dragon's Dogma 2 too.
