I rewatch bits of Adam & Joe occasionally. Their DVD design was a labour of love. It's still charmingly lo-fi, thankfully without too many 90s attitudes tripping them up. They are remembered for the toy parodies but I think their live action stuff has held up much better. Big fan of People Place, 1980s House, Room for Change and Ken Korda. Their hidden camera stunts remain pretty funny too. It's kind of a shame that Joe Cornish got Hollywood successful so they can't collaborate much anymore. There was something unique about them as a duo when given free rein to be creatively silly. Agree with all of this. Even coming out the gate with ones as strong as Toyspotting and Seven, its still the live action segments that really hold up. I’ve got the dvd somewhere and yeah, that, Darkplace and Spaced all similarly speak to the people behind them being the kind of nerds who are creating an entire package that they’d love to consume. I kind of wish the League of Gentlemen dvds were similar but I assume the BBC has a much shorter leash for indulging the talent.

Very fond memories of the Adam and Joe show. Still listen to their old 6 music podcasts every now and then.
I’m actually a bit disappointed Adam doesn’t talk more about the show in Ramblebook. Aside from one incident where he fell out with his dad while shooting in Ibiza it kind of gets glossed over.

Watched the first two episodes of Baby Reindeer. Absolutely love it.

The Consolevania relaunch has launched. I don’t know if anyone here would be into the idea of confused middle aged men trying to remember games from the past, its not very Fontgeek I know, but you might be into seeing what that’d be like anyway

X-Men ‘97: they’re ripping through the classic storylines and yes, they finally did THAT one…

I haven't watched Baby Reindeer, but I'm aware of the gist of it, and I have no intention of watching either it or this Piers Morgan bullshit either, but the idea of platforming a stalker whose behaviour was viewed by police as serious enough to warrant a restraining order, and allowing them the opportunity to talk about their victim is heinous beyond description.
Shades of that time Scott Mills' radio show basically set up a direct line between stalkers and their victims for "entertainment".

Dark Matter - Jennifer Connelly is so hot a man breaks the laws of the universe so he can shoot his shot with her again, a plot I think we can all get on board with.
But it’s a bit slow, a bit all over the place and I’m a bit done with the multiverse.
It’s alright, I’ll probably watch to the end but it’s 6/10 so far.

Ah, that's a shame. It was a fun book and I've been looking forward to the show for ages.
I've picked up Inside No. 9 again after only getting to the end of the second season back when it first aired. The Krampus episode (S3E1) was a bit of an odd one, but what an ending!
X-Men 97 S1E4 - starts off feeling like a filler episode then just goes a bit mental. I love how they flip stuff around constantly in this.

Watching Gossip Girl on Netflix. Considering the characters are meant to be 14/15, they get into clubs really easy. It's pure trash.
Fallout on Prime. Watched 3 episodes and it's very good so far. Goggins is chewing everything in sight.

Never played the games but might watch Fallout just for Goggins. Who doesn't love old Walt?

He's like a Raylan and Boyd love child in Fallout. It's great.

Bodkin on netflix. Irish Only Murders. Not as good and poorly paced first couple of episodes, but decent watch nonetheless. Some fun characters

Fortune Hotel on itvx.
One episode in and it seems like a suitable alternative to Traitors. Several teams of pairs have a random suitcase to begin with. One contains £250k, one an eviction card and the rest blank notes. Like Traitors, they take part in tasks during the day to decide the order of swapping the cases that happens at the end of the day, with the winners of the task getting to choose last (they can choose to stick it they want too).
I've enjoyed the first episode and it could get quite devious later if there's more bluffing, lying and back-stabbing with teams trying to figure out who has the cash or bad one and how they prudentially use those to their advantage.
I like the dynamics that could possibly be introduced here. On to ep. 2.

Is there anyway that the contestants know if they’ve got the money or not or is it all Traitors style guess work?

Is there anyway that the contestants know if they’ve got the money or not or is it all Traitors style guess work? Yeah, they know what's in thier own cases and there seems to be more than one task a day so there's opportunities to secretly swap cases too (or peek at another team's case) without others knowing (for those that win the first task). Those that win the main task then have the advantage of being the last to swap at the end of the day. It feels like it could make a good tabletop/party game.

What is it with those two on Race Across the World and losing their passports? You’d have thought that the first time they did it was scary enough.

I am watching The Beekeeper. It's one of the dumbest things I've seen in ages. (not a criticism) I have one question though: if you had a previous life as a secret elite soldier called a Beekeeper and wanted to retire, would you choose actual beekeeping as a hobby? Or maybe it's a requirement for retired Beekeepers that they take it up? Just a coincidence?

I'm a bit torn. I have a feeling it won't live up to the first season, but I'll still watch the hell out of more Toranaga.

re beekeepers, a small person recently informed me that bees don't like brown people and that's why beekeepers wear white and that sounded a bit racist so i googled it and small person was right, bees don't like bears and bears are brown (except polar bears but you don't see any polar bees do you?) so yeah bees are racist and that's why beekeepers wear white

Smiling Friends - 2x01 and 2x02
Long wait between seasons, but worth it. Cheered me right up after the day I've had.
Best line from the CEO of that video game company:

Japanese bears are black. Bloody racist murder hornets!

I’ve recently discovered that one of those weird digital channels that shows an infinite loop of a single series is an infinite loop of Robot Wars. There’s some good stuff in those Craig Charles/ Philippa Forester days and its ideal background tv for getting ready in the morning.

That's great, but how?? I mean the main character has been cremated. No idea, I’m guessing it’ll follow Toronaga and whatever happens to him next. It’s one of those shows that was great as it was and I’d love more but I’d also like it left as it is. It’s such a high bar to try and meet again.

I'm predicting an utterly pointless side plot of Blackthorne's journey home and reintegrating himself back in Blighty and starting a family.
