Sounds like ear wax to me.
And those “fizzing” ear drops do nothing useful and can cause further irritation. Warm up some olive oil and stick that in your eye twice a day. A kid’s Calpol syringe is your friend.
I meant ear but fuck it: In your eye also.

As someone the quacks tentively diagnosed with Ménière's disease last year, your ears can absolutely fuck you right up and do strange things from time to time.
But I agree with the above, Olive Oil eardrops for a week or two should hopefully sort some of the shenanigans out, if not visit a doctor obviously. In my experience the ear drops can also often make things worse initially, but stick with it.

I hope all who have posted recently are feeling better.
The MRI results came back and it showed a badly blocked sinus, and a non specific white matter lesion sized 8mm.
The doctor doesn't seem too worried about it, but I have another scan scheduled in six months time.
Woke up this morning with a severe migraine that had me sobbing for a while. The last one did too, actually. So either I'm getting softer as I get older or they're getting worse.
I'll just have to keep an eye out for any new symptoms, keep soldiering on.

Sorry to hear all that, Ape. I hope the migraine has now eased. It has thank god. Still feel like I've been hit by a truck. The after-effects can knock you on your bottom as well.

LegendaryApe Sorry to hear about the migraine giving you troubles. About the MRI results, I understand it was inconclusive; can you get a second opinion?

LegendaryApe Sorry to hear about the migraine giving you troubles. About the MRI results, I understand it was inconclusive; can you get a second opinion? I've thought about it alright. It certainly wouldn't hurt. I've been in two minds about whether to wait for the next scan and see what that says. I certainly think the increase in the severity of my migraines, and on two occasions I've had some strange visual phenomena warrants another look

It will be two weeks tomorrow and I still haven't gotten my biopsy results. I called the surgery this morning to check if they had anything back, but they said they don't have any record of me having a biopsy. I expect they'll turn up eventually or I'll die. One of the two.
I have my annual review over the phone with the nurse tomorrow morning. They call it annual, but it's been a couple of years since my last one. I don't even know why they bother. I have a blood test and blood pressure check every month for this cholesterol drug trial I'm on so I already know what they're going to say. "Your cholesterol is looking great, but your blood pressure is a bit low at 90/60. But hey, since you're not fainting all over the place, it's fine and you can stay on the blood pressure meds."

I have requested a second opinion from a neurologist, through an medical app I have access to through my income continuance provider. Hopefully that won't take too long to get.

Has anyone ever suffered from Tennis Elbow or the like? I've had pain in my left arm from the elbow joint along the outer forearm since just before Xmas and it's still nagging me. All online diagnosis suggests it's one of those "will heal in time" injuries but my god it's taking its sweet time about it.

Nope but I've got a weird pain in my arm just down from my shoulder that happens whenever I cross my arms. It's annoying because I keep forgetting about it. It's not instant, it takes a few seconds or so to start hurting and continues to get worse the longer I cross them. Unfortunately it also continues to build for a similar amount of time after I stop, so by the time the pain reminds me it's way too late and it gets quite excruciating. On the plus side, it's a diversion from my back pain. Roll on death.

That will speed up the healing. But yeah, mostly it's time.

robthehermitOur surgery lost two sh*t tests of my Mrs after she’d noted blood in the stool. She was also not told that she needed to have her gall bladder removed for about a year and a half after seeing a consultant. In fact she only found out because another consultant read her records which said it had already been removed! They are a big fallible beurocracy like any other and do not feel awkward about being assertive and asking for things to be looked into.

I’ve done two applications of the ear drops, nothing from it it’s still going.
I will try the olive oil next, although I have noted that ear drops tend to come in two ‘flavours’ with one being oil based, so I might try a bottle of that - I’m assuming application will be easier than having to source/buy a separate syringe. Will see a doctor after if this doesn’t work but I just don’t have the time this week.
I’ve never had such clear vision though in positive news!

Hey! For a couple of quid you can buy Calpol in any supermarket and that willl come with the syringe you need. Pour a small dollop of olive oil into a tablespoon, suck up 5ml into the syringe, squirt it - slowly - into your ear and you’re golden.
Any over the counter version will make things worse ime.
Invest in some tissues to soak up the leakage. Top tip.

Plus you get a bottle of Calpol. If I ever want to commit paracetamol-based suicide, it’ll be by that tasty-fruity route so win/win.

Surely every parent has hundreds of those in the drawer, all with varying degrees of effectiveness? Often resulting in Calpol being administered like a rocket as the syringe gets stuck? And then tears.

drakesmoke the way we always did it in the FE household was putting some of the oil on a small wad of cotton and jam it in there (basically enough for it to feel wet on the in-ear side but not saturated all the way through). Prevents any leakage, gets the oil(/ear drops or whatever else) nice and deep to do its job and gives you an additional excuse to "not hear" requests to do stuff

Funny you should be talking about this. I have just in the last few days been getting Youtube recommendations for ear wax removal videos.
There are two things I don't understand about this. 1 - why it would suddenly think I wanted to watch this and 2 - why I was up to 1 in the morning watching this.

Did your other half use your phone, and messed up your recommendations?
For my wife it's videos of dermatologists dealing with massive spots.
I find it disgusting and she's not allowed to access YouTube on my phone.

General update:
Annual Health Check
As predicted - cholesterol fine, blood pressure low, kidneys fine, no diabetes. See you next year. Phone call took 1 minute and 7 seconds.
Necksticle
Phoned the hospital, got put through to wrong department - twice. Decided to phone PALS, they were quite helpful and were able to find out that my results were ready on the 15th and if I haven't heard anything by Tuesday give them another call and they'll chase it up for me.
I'm guessing from this that it's nothing serious and I just have a random lump otherwise they would have had a bit more urgency about getting in touch.
Back
Still fucked and it's all I can do to stand up at the moment. Tramadol aren't really helping.

Reminds me, my annual blood test came back. I was .07 over the reference limit for the LDL/HDL ratio and the doc wanted to put me on statins. Told them I'd try dietary changes first thanks, for something so borderline.

Shit stand up routine incoming:
Is it just me, or are all GP surgery secretaries awful, awful people? I'm not sure I've ever encountered one who could be described as even approaching pleasant. More just annoyed that you dared to phone them or tried to book an appointment or see what's happening with your prescription. I get that dealing with the public day in day out must make you hate your life, but don't treat everyone like a shit muncher from the off. Give them the benefit of the doubt first before you talk to them like they've just shat on your desk.
