Don't think it really changes that much does it? We've always been heading down the path of needing boosters and shit every year and I imagine they'll have a one adjusted for delta soon. The vaccines are still effective so the only people this really effects is the unvaccinated. Fuck em.

They'll have to start doing those big plastic bubbles on the NHS.

Not fucked - just that the holy grail of vaccines wiping the thing off the face of the earth appears to be gone / on the back-burner. They're still meaning far fewer people get it in the first place, and those that do are far less likely to get it seriously.

This morning they talked on the radio about how the vaccine doesn't seem to work against Delta. Then in the paper it said it DOES work against Delta. Feels like we're back on square one with no-one knowing what's going on.
At the same time as everyone being so fucking tired of it all they can't do basic things like WFH if you're able to. "But I miss the office! I need ot get out!"

Of course they're working. Society has been open for months and we're seeing 80 deaths a day. In January we were seeing 1,200 a day.

It got quite a bit higher than 1200. We were almost hitting 2k a day at the peak.

I see user Wayne got Covid. I'm amazed he didn't see it coming from his analysis of trends.

Cases actually in Wellington. We'll be in full lockdown for at least a month, I reckon.

One of my colleagues whose in their late 20s just returned from three weeks off with Covid and can still barely get up the stairs.
It triggered their vertigo so they kept fainting while they were off. Scary stuff.
Only single jabbed I think.

Been at home for the last week and a bit revising my nuts off for an exam, haven't left the house really since Thursday last week other than the walk the dog and I've just tested positive.
Type 1 diabetic too, but double jabbed so hopefully will be ok. #PrayforHumperfunk

Zoiks Scoob! Yep sadly can only see it going one way. Health service and social care services already under massive pressure and we haven’t even got to winter yet.

Considering 9 out of 10 people are still supposed to be wearing masks, fuck all were when I was out and about today. Then again, I do visit some places populated almost entirely with cunts (Stoke, Mansfield, Chesterfield).
I was in Chesterfield today and popped into Tesco for lunch: aside from a few terrified oldies, I was practically the only other fucker masked up.

According to the Zoe trial they're seeing what looks like a reduction in the efficacy of the vaccine in people who had it months ago. Looks like we'll need that booster sooner rather than later. On the positive side, it looks like having a 12 week gap between jabs has helped strengthen our immunity, unlike in Israel where the gap was three weeks and deaths are rising rapidly now.
I'm certainly going to keep wearing my mask out there for some time.
Just had notification at work that I'll be wfh for another 6 months which is good news.

I'm stuck at home again. There were a bunch of cases in the area that I work, so one of the government people recommended that everyone in that area get tested, and my workplace has been closed to let all staff get the test. Which blows, because I had a pretty lucrative weekend shift that I now cannot do even though I tested negative.
Of course I don't blame anyone for being careful, but it still sucks. I'm really looking forward to getting that second AZ dose.
